Etnies Fader History

Founded by two French designers in 1986, Etnies is a skate company and was initially called "Etnics," which was derived from the word Ethnic as a nod to skate culture. After a few years, the brand had to change its name due to legal issues.

In 1989, a former professional skateboarder named Pierre André who was nearing the end of his career took charge of the company. This acquisition made Etnies the very first skateboard shoe company to be owned by a pro skateboarder.

Today the brand is based in California and falls under one of Sole Technology's subsidiaries. Although owned by another company, Etnies is still running under the watchful eyes of Pierre André. To this day, Etnies remains popular amongst skateboarders and loyal fans for their consistently comfortable and durable footwear. They are known for ungimmicky shoe technologies that provide protection, performance, comfort, and style. Moreover, their inventory now includes an extensive collection of apparel and accessories.

One of the many skate shoes in their roster is the Etnies Fader, one of the longstanding shoe models of the brand. It has been reinterpreted in countless iterations and is known to work well as a casual shoe and even better as tough skate kick. Check it out in different colorways to complement your every mood and look.

Etnies Fader Style

Displaying a low-top profile, the Etnies Fader is indeed a head turner thanks to its bulky silhouette with oversized logo detailing. With its old-school skate style, skater and non-skaters alike enjoy rocking it for various activities. Pair it with oversized pants and a plaid button-down shirt for that retro skater look or opt for joggers and hoodies for an all-out sporty ensemble.

Size and fit

The Etnies Fader is exclusively available in men’s sizes that range from 5 to 15. Ladies who fancy a pair should go 1.5 sizes down from their standard shoe size. Its collar and tongue are abundantly cushioned for added comfort. This kick fits true to size.
