DC Legacy 98 Slim SE History

Since Damon Way and Ken Block founded Droors Clothing in 1994, the brand which is known today as DC and has been non-stop in dishing out new DC releases and making their mark in the extreme sports realm. DC exponentially grew throughout the years and was even recognized as the leading skate brand during the 90s.

One outstanding 90s DC sneaker is the DC Legacy. Initially introduced in 1998, the Legacy is Colin McCay and Danny Way's dual signature model. Equipped with TPU arch and other shock absorbent properties, the DC Legacy was considered an innovative pair during its release. Consumers were also convinced that it was greatly influenced by Nike's Air Max 95 due to its original colorway and layering design on its upper. Many mistook the shoe as the AM95 when the Beastie Boys wore it in the promo of their song Hello Nasty.

Exactly 20 years after its inception, DC decided to bring back the shoe through several iterations with more modern and slimmer silhouettes. One of three versions is called the DC Legacy 98 Slim SE, which is available in just one colorway called the Black Camo. Due to this shoe's upper print accent and translucent outsoles, DC decided to officially call it the DC Legacy 98 Slim Special Edition (SE).
