High-top basketball shoes

Generally, high-top basketball shoes are those that have collars that extend above the ankle. High-tops, however, are not to be confused with boots, which are usually used for hiking.

This type of basketball shoes became popular when the now streetstyle giant Converse started releasing them in 1917. Almost all basketball players in the NBA at that time wore high-tops from the brand when they played on the court.

High-top basketball shoes are believed to provide excellent ankle support. This leads to the belief that if an athlete wears low-tops when playing basketball, they assume a great risk of injury. This has since been disproven by science, but this does not mean that high-top basketball shoes already fell out of favor. There are still basketball players like LeBron James and Stephen Curry who like to wear high-tops when they play.

High-top basketball shoes: Buying made easy

Here at RunRepeat, we collect reviews to come up with aggregated assessments of high-top shoes from big names such as Adidas and Nike. We also look into new brands like New Balance, Converse, Puma, Anta, and Peak. We then present them to you so that you can easily make buying decisions.

Aside from reviews, we also present how much each shoe costs in every retailer in our database so that it's easy for you to make price comparisons.
