Who is it for? This Callaway shoe is meant for purists playing in the modern era.

Why is it good? Undeterred by its looks, the Callaway Lagrange is infused by modern technologies, which makes it relentless on the greens.

  • The nine-spiked outsole conquers different surfaces from elevations to sodden grounds.
  • The leather upper makes this shoe a suitable option during summer play. It is not limited to specific seasons, though, as it is waterproofed and apt for all year round.

Grip without slip. The LaGrange serves up some serious traction through its Tornado spikes. Unlike typical golf shoes that usually have six to seven spikes, this model is generously-placed with nine. Having this provides no room for slippage and ensures that maximum stability is achieved.

Added traction. Tucked at the bottom of the shoe is a Fusion-Lite TPU outsole. It acts as a strong platform where further traction, support, and structure is injected.

Midsole must-haves. Because comfort is king when it comes to athletic footwear, this trainer is positioned with two foam technologies. One of which is the Duo-Max, which delivers a soft and comfortable feel that can easily be felt when the foot touches it. It is structured underneath to make it stable and supportive. Acting as an accessory to it is the Poweverdrive. It is a molded insole composed of a soft EVA material to give improved arch and heel support.

Classic with a twist. Even if brands continuously venture on different upper materials and technology, the good old full-grain leather will always be time-tested. It's not a surprise that it is the most popular upper material amongst brands. It is a reliable option for those who want durability, breathability, and comfort. The golf brand equips the shoe with a moisture shield called Opti-Dri. It waterproofs the entire upper, and it is also provided with a two-year limited waterproof warranty.

Minus the saddle, the LaGrange show resemblances to traditional golf shoes. The leather upper and spiked outsole are definite giveaways. Some athletic detailings, like the colored outsole and heel cap, however, are injected.

Because of its winning mix of athletic and conventional, this shoe scores in versatility on the greens. The overall styling permits this pair to be worn with endless types of clothing.

Professional golfer Marc Leishman wore a custom pair at the 118th U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, Southampton, New York.
