Updates to Astral TR1 Junction

  • As a versatile day hiking shoe, the Astral TR1 Junction is designed to overcome both land and water adventures. Its upper features water-hating materials while the holes at the toe area act as drainage to channel water out.
  • It has a rubber outsole made of the brand’s G.15 compound. The aggressive 5 mm lugs and sticky compound make navigation on wet and dry grounds easier.
  • Using the Balanced Geometry feature, the TR1 Junction grants support and comfort. These benefits are enhanced by an EVA midsole, Top Shank and a Polygiene-treated insole.

Size and fit

A true-to-size amphibious shoe, the Astral TR1 Junction caters to male and female outdoor lovers. It comes in whole and half sizes. Standard width is offered. It is designed with a tapered instep and heel area to provide a secure foothold and control. Also, it has a wide forefoot that delivers stability and allows toe splaying.

Outsole

This low-cut day hiking shoe has a non-marking rubber outsole. It has 5 mm deep lugs and is made of the G.15 compound. It is formulated to render grip on virtually all types of terrain while being resistant to abrasions. It has a softer rubber which enables it to conform to the ground.

Midsole

The EVA midsole of the TR1 Junction attenuates shock from impacts. It is also designed with only 1 mm drop from heel to toe to mimic the position of the foot when not wearing a shoe. The Top Shank and EVA heel cup enhance support. Hence, fatigue is reduced after miles of walking.

A removable insole treated with Polygiene helps keep the freshness of the in-shoe environment. It prevents the growth of odor-causing bacteria at the source.

Upper

The Astral TR1 Junction has an upper made of a breathable, hydrophobic canvas. It is reinforced with TPU overlays at the toe and heel which also protects against rock-strewn trails. Additionally, it is designed with water drainage holes at the toe. A pull tab helps in during on and off.
