Updates to Asolo TPS 520 GV Evo

  • The Asolo designers created the TPS 520 GV Evo for tackling technical terrain and other backpacking-slash-trekking adventures. The thickness of the leather in the upper protects while the Gore-Tex lining enhances comfort.
  • The Triple Power Structure (TPS) technology addresses areas of the foot that receive the most impact from ground contact. Its midsole is directly injected to the outsole to create a sole unit.

Size and fit

The Asolo TPS 520 GV Evo is a backpacking boot that caters to men and women. It comes in full and half sizes. Both versions come in standard widths, with the men’s also offered in wide . Its traditional lace-up closure assists the users in getting a precise fit.

The outsole of the TPS 520 GV Evo is the result of an Asolo-Vibram collaboration. This rubber outsole has self-cleaning lugs that are widely spaced to render grip on most types of terrain. The Aso-brake system assists the foot on steep downhill paths. The sole extends to the toes to protect them from accidental bumps. There are lugs at the lateral side and some spots at the heel that deliver stability.

The Triple Power Structure (TPS) technology includes using a dual-density PU midsole for long-lasting cushioning. This feature also includes three shock absorbers strategically placed across the top of the sole. One on the heel area to receive and dissipate impact from initial ground contact. The second cylinder on the inner part of the heel stabilizes the gait. The rocker, or the cylinder in the metatarsal area assists in toe-off.

Underfoot support is rendered by the Asoflex 00 MR. It works with the Lite 2 anatomic footbed that grants a more comfortable and cushioned ride.

A one-piece 2.6 - 2.8 mm full-grain leather is featured on the upper of the TPS 520 GV Evo. This robust material is lined with a Gore-Tex Performance Comfort laminate . This lining is moderately insulated and waterproof. It also maintains a comfortable in-shoe feel through its breathability.

Its gusseted tongue protects the foot from trail debris while a padded collar renders comfort. The combination eyelets make lacing up easier.
