Good to know

‘FF’ might as well stand for ‘fast forward’ because you’ll be moving at lightning speed when you’re wearing the Netburner Super FF. The unique outsole construction allows wearers to cut and change directions quickly without slipping on the floor. This pair of low-top volleyball shoes is also equipped with a responsive midsole. It attenuates shock and, at the same time, propels the foot for explosive takeoffs.

Traction. The Asics Netburner Super FF is equipped with the AHARPLUS outsole. This compound uses the same rubber used in car tires, which makes it very grippy on various types of surfaces. The addition of reinforcing material makes AHARPLUS 3 times more abrasion-resistant than most rubbers.

Flexibility. Under the forefoot section is the X-Groove System. At the center is a pivot point that makes it easy for players to turn. Meanwhile, the furrows in the shape of an ‘X’ promote multi-directional flexibility that allows quick cuts and transitions without slippage.

Cushioning. The Netburner Super FF is equipped with FlyteFoam. This foam technology is made of organic super fibers that quickly bounce back into shape after compression. It is 55% lighter than conventional foam but performs just as well in absorbing shock. This layer protects the joints of the lower extremities against impact.

Rebound. Another midsole component used in this Asics volleyball shoe is the SpEVA foam. It enhances the energy return of the sole unit, making for a bouncier landing that readies the foot the next step.

Removable insert. Inside this trainer is a molded Ortholite sockliner. It follows the curves of the underfoot to provide maximum coverage and prevent in-shoe slippage. It is also removable, allowing the use of custom orthotics if needed.

Coverage. The top of the Asics Netburner Super FF is crafted from a mesh fabric. This material is reinforced by synthetic overlays to deliver a supportive wrap. The combination of these two materials prevents the foot from sliding inside the shoe. The overlays also safeguard the underlying fabric against abrasion to increase its durability.

Comfort. The interior of the upper is lined with soft mesh. It prevents chafing and enhances the breathability brought about by the perforations on the forefoot. The comfort fit tongue protects the instep against abrasion and disperses the pressure created by tightening the laces.

Support. At the rearfoot is an external heel cup. It is made of a rigid plastic that aims to steady the hindfoot and keep it securely in place.

Lockdown. On the midfoot of the Netburner Super FF is a traditional lace-up closure. It allows for fit customization as well as an amplified foothold. The tongue and the collar are both lined with foam, which not only improves comfort but also the fit.

If you love the cushioning on the Netburner Super FF but wish for more ankle support, check out the Asics Netburner Ballistic MT. This mid-top volleyball shoe has a high collar that delivers more ankle hold without compromising its mobility. However, instead of AHARPLUS, the Netburner Ballistic FF MT uses N.C. Rubber. This compound uses a combination of natural rubber and synthetic components to deliver grip on smooth, polished floors.
