Good to know

The Gel Rocket 9 is designed as a volleyball shoe that suits both novice and professional volleyball players. It delivers support during side-to-side movements as well as the traction on smooth, polished floors. As for the top, it is crafted using lightweight and breathable materials that won’t hold back the players.

Traction. The Gel Rocket 9 employs a gum rubber outsole. This material is naturally sticky on wooden floors because of its soft nature. However, due to its delicacy, using this volleyball shoe on rough surfaces will result in the early degradation of the trainer. It features a herringbone tread pattern that facilitates multi-directional grip to prevent slippage.

Additionally, suction-cup-like structures amplify the bite of the outsole to the smooth surface. For easy twists and turns, there is a disc under the ball of the foot to help with these movements without injuring the knee.

Flexibility. The outsole is segmented. The separation of the underside into sections allows it to bend naturally where that action is needed.

Comfort. Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam is the primary midsole of the Gel Rocket 9. It is molded to deliver better underfoot coverage. Inside, there is an insole that aims to provide reliable comfort. The footbed is removable and can be easily replaced with custom orthotics if needed.

Shock absorption. This model is equipped with the brand’s proprietary Rearfoot and Forefoot Gel Cushioning System. It attenuates shock and facilitates the smooth transition from the heel to the toes.

Comfort. The upper of the Asics Gel Rocket 9 is made of mesh. This fabric is lightweight and breathable, which prevents sweaty feet. Synthetic overlays are present at various locations to help reinforce these high-wear areas as well as rendering support. The plush tongue not only protects the instep from abrasion but also helps with the cozy in-shoe experience.

Fit. At the midfoot is the traditional lace-up closure which can be utilized to deliver a customized fit. The heel fit remains snug because of the padded collar.
