Good to know

  • The Asics Gel Nimbus 20 Lite-Show is a neutral running shoe that’s created for the roads. It is the version that has a reflective upper, a trait that is not present in the original Gel Nimbus 20 model. The façade is also comprised of a breathable mesh that welcomes the natural shape and motion of the foot.
  • Underfoot cushioning is the responsibility of many cushioning technologies. These foam and gel units are tasked with keeping the foot secure from strain and other unsavory effects of the running session. Covering the midsole are two highly abrasion-resistant rubber compounds.

Standard measurements were used in the making of the Asics Gel Nimbus 20 Lite-Show. Runners can purchase a pair using their usual sizing expectations. When it comes to width, the available variants are D – Medium and B – Medium for men and women, respectively.

Asics High Abrasion Rubber or AHAR® is placed in the high-wear areas of the outsole. The job of this compound, which is also used in the Asics Gel Nimbus 21, is to protect against wear-and-tear while also providing traction over the asphalt.

DuraSponge® is blown rubber that’s placed in the forefoot section of the external pad. It has a spongy construction that adds to the cushioning capacity of the midsole unit, potentially heightening propulsion and impact attenuation.

FlyteFoam® is a cushioning technology that offers a bouncy ride. It’s created using super-fibers that are of organic origin, giving it unprecedented durability and full-bodied form.

The FluidRide® midsole is also part of the Asics Gel Nimbus 20 Lite-Show’s cushioning system. It is a lightweight foam that is able to provide a ‘fluid’ transition through the gait cycle.

The GEL® Cushioning System involves silicon-based pieces that are placed in the heel and forefoot sections of the platform. These hunks are meant to absorb impact during the landing phase, easing the strike and encouraging an enabled toe-off.

The Guidance Trusstic System® is a thermoplastic support unit in the midfoot section that is meant to preserve the structural integrity of the platform. It also steadies the arch, preventing it from deviating during the run.

A vertical trench called the Guidance Line® divides the crash-pad into two, allowing for the shadowing of the contact points during the foot-strike and the gait transition, potentially easing the process of taking each step.

The Ortholite® X-40 Sockliner is meant to add a bit more cushioning for the underfoot. Moreover, it has anti-moisture and antimicrobial features to maintain a healthy and dry in-shoe environment.

Gradient mesh is a lightweight fabric that offers form-fitting coverage and breathability. It has open pores that accommodate air into the foot-chamber.

A multidirectional stretch-mesh called FluidFit® is placed in areas that are prone to bending. It permits the natural capacity of the foot to flex while retaining its structure. Such a feature also aims to avert fabric tearing and flex-wrinkles.

3D Printed Overlays help the rest of the façade when it comes to securing the foot and keeping it in place. These layers are thin, and they don’t have a lot of weight.

The upper unit has reflective prints on it, hence the name, Asics Gel Nimbus 20 Lite-Show. These elements are meant to make the shoe visible at night, thus keeping the runner safe on the roads.
