Good to know

  • The modernization of running shoe construction is evident in the Asics Gel FujiTrabuco 5 GTX. Even from its looks, it’s a definite step from the previous iteration. The upper is still made up of mesh, but the overlays in this model are thinner, less pronounced, and mostly unstitched. This design significantly reduces the overall bulk of the shoe.
  • The mid-sole is comprised of different features and technology. While the main foam unit is present to deliver responsive cushioning to the runner, the addition of Gel® in the rear and forefoot sections allow the platform to absorb impact shock during the landing phase. Some stability mechanisms make the shoe more agreeable to overpronators.

Standard measurements were used in the making of the Asics Gel FujiTrabuco 5 GTX. When it comes to this shoe, runners can get the size that they’re used to. The available width for the men’s and women’s versions is medium. Those with medium sized feet are its target.

Just like the well known Asics Patriot 10, the outsole unit of the Asics Gel FujiTrabuco 5 GTX makes use of the AHAR® or Asics High Abrasion Rubber. This material is capable of withstanding the damaging nature of the ground.

Gripping lugs allow the runner to move more confidently on the unpredictable terrains. They hold onto the surfaces like clamps. They also heighten traction on wet surfaces.

A Rock Protection Plate sits between the outsole and mid-sole. It shields the foot from any sharp debris or jagged edges while traversing the trails.

Solyte® is a full-length foam unit that’s measured to be lighter than the standard foam units that are commonly used in running shoes. It’s durable and responsive.

The Gel® Cushioning System is placed in the rear and forefoot sections of the mid-sole. These separate silicon-based units attenuate impact shock during the landing phase of the gait cycle, thus keeping the runner free from any discomfort.

The DuoMax® Support System is comprised of a dual-density mid-sole foam that’s placed in the mid-foot section of the platform. It stabilizes the foot and prevents the progression of overpronation.

The middle section of the platform has the Trusstic System®, which is a unit that preserves the structural integrity of the mid-sole. It also supports the foot, preventing it from wobbling while performing.

A sock liner that’s molded to the contours of the foot is added on top of the main mid-sole unit. The curves of its façade allow it to provide some support to the arch. It can be removed or replaced with a new one. It even has an anti-microbial property, which staves off odor-causing bacteria.

A durable mesh material is used for the upper unit of the Asics Gel FujiTrabuco 5 GTX. It wraps around the foot securely yet it allows it to move naturally.

The GORE-TEX® membrane is a waterproof layer that prevents water from entering the shoe. It enables the runner to be more confident when running in wet conditions.

The Anti Gravel Tongue has a gusseted design, which prevents rocks and other small debris from entering the shoe.

A traditional lace-up closure system is implemented in this running shoe. The laces can be kept in a Lace Garage™ that’s incorporated in the tongue.

The padded tongue and collar help the rest of the upper unit in keeping the foot in place.

A pull loop in the rear section of the upper allows the runner to wear the shoe more conveniently.
