Good to know

  • The Aku Trekker Lite III GTX is a new and improved version of the Trekker Lite II in the shape of the Tengu Lite model. The result? A lightweight yet robust hiker that is ideal for day excursions.
  • This trekking boot features Gore-tex waterproof lining that keeps water out, a high-performing Vibram Curcuma outsole that provides grip and traction where you need it, and a double-density die-cut EVA midsole for cushion and support.

Created for male and female hikers and backpackers, the Aku Trekker Lite III GTX is made with pliable suede leather that easily conforms to the shape of the foot. It also features a traditional lace-up system for a more secure fit.

The Vibram Curcuma outsole has many unique qualities, such as a large contact toe for grip performance, lugs with opposing heights for better traction, and undercut heel for downhill braking performance. The deep lugs ensure a stable grip on uneven and slippery surfaces while the toe bumper protects the foot and strengthens the grip.

Vibram soles are known to be highly durable. Boots with Vibram soles usually last longer and are able to tackle more challenging terrains than boots with regular rubber soles.

The Trekker Lite III GTX is constructed with double-density EVA foam. It’s produced by injecting EVA material of first-density and pellets of raw EVA of second-density into the mold. This results in a midsole that has firm and soft sections for improved stability and energy return.

Double-density EVA midsoles have unique qualities that make them suitable for hiking and running shoes. These include flexibility, increased cushioning, and support.

This hiking boot from Aku also comes with a soft, removable footbed that is contoured to the foot.

The Aku Trekker Lite III GTX is a premium boot made with velvety soft suede leather, welded PU film, and the Aku Air8000.

Suede leather, though not as durable as full-grain leather, is still a very tough, high-quality material characterized by a soft and smooth surface. The Air8000, on the other hand, is an Aku exclusive technology designed to add some breathability in the footwear. The company claims that it is 11 times more breathable than conventional fabrics.

Air8000 has the look and feel of Cordura fabric and is very durable. For maximum protection against rain, water, and moisture, the boot is lined with Gore-tex membrane.

The welded PU film provides additional support to the Air8000. It is also used to reinforce the lacing eyelets as well as the upper sections covering the forefoot and ankle.
