Who should buy the Air Jordan 1 Element Gore-Tex

You'll end up loving this more than other AJ1s or Jordan shoes if:

  • you want a rain- and snowproof high-top sneaker
  • you opt for a winter-ready shoe that doesn't appear like sneakerboots
  • you prefer a stylish shoe for wet days that will keep your feet dry
  • you are looking for an excellent AJ1 investment with the potential to increase its value on the resale market

Who should NOT buy it

You should pass up this shoe if you are a budget-conscious buyer looking for a winter-equipped sneaker with a price way, way below $200. Jump to other winterized selections from Nike's ACG lineup, which you can buy at a lesser cost. Try the hiking-inspired Nike Manoa if you want a more grippy sole.

Air Jordan 1 Gore-Tex gets technical for the winter season

You can now flaunt your AJ1s year-round. For the first time, the Air Jordan 1 is prepped with technological components that can handle harsh weather, be it rain or snow. Even as it utilizes a highly weather-resistant Gore-Tex fabric, it appears crisp and stylish like the classic OG and not much as a workboot or winterized sneakerboot.

Guarantees to keep your feet dry

The Gore-Tex outer fabric, gusseted tongue, and plush lining prevent rainwater, snow, and even dirt from seeping in. These materials keep the feet locked in, dry, and warm. Even the Swoosh logo isn't sewn in to prevent creating holes as entry points for water. Instead of getting absorbed by the shoe, water trickles down the sides.

It can resist immediate wear and tear

Its ripstop underlay, made of woven nylon fabric, is reinforced making it resistant to rip and tear. It's laid across the vamp, midfoot, and tongue, putting a lot of life into these sections.

Sealed-in tongue

The front section of the tongue is directly attached to the upper through gussets. It prevents the tongue from sliding side to side. The unattached top part of the tongue offers flexibility and encourages natural foot movement.

Supercool design from top to bottom

Stylish without appearing like winterized GTX shoes and sneakers from the Nike ACG footgear line. On the flip side, its two-toned rubber sole is attention-grabbing too.

Appearing like an Off-White shoe

Some of its details such as the bold Gore-Tex labeling and inverted text on the tongue appear like it belongs to Virgil Abloh's out-of-the-box Off-White sneaker collection.

There's no scrimping in materials here

Weather-treated nubuck suede laid around the toe, midfoot flaps, and heel feel buttery.

It pops in the dark

The reflective Swoosh, Gore-Tex, and Air Jordan wings labels make you visible at night.
