Size and fit

The low-top Adidas Yeezy 500 is presented in full family sizes - men's, kids', and infants'. This kick is an addition to the Adidas lace-up sneakers and anchored on a tumbled leather eyelet. This kick has an Adiprene cushioning that provides a lightweight and flexible cushioning. It also has a removable Ortholite insole that provides added comfort to its wearers.

Adidas Yeezy 500 Style

The Adidas Yeezy 500 is a real eye-catching with exceptional craftsmanship. It displays an upper that is crafted with soft mesh material found on the midfoot up to the heel. This breathable material worked as a flexible base to keep the shoe lightweight and ventilated. The tumbled leather found around the center of the shoe holds the laces and provides support on the midfoot.

The tongue is covered with a plastic-like element that adds reinforcement to the laces. The mudguard, meanwhile, is made of smooth leather that transitions into suede that covers the toe box. This detail is further supported by a rubber foxing tape found around the kick just below the smooth leather mudguard. To add style, the brand boosts its fashionable look by the reflective 3M details piped around the middle of the shoe.

The striking well-sculpted Adiprene midsole was unearthed from old Adidas footwear that has been revamped to fit the signature style of Kanye. This detail gives this kick its signature appeal to many onlookers and fanatics.

Adidas and Kanye present the Yeezy 500 in many subdued colorways. The most celebrated colorways of this model are the Adidas Kanye 500 bone white, Adidas Kanye 500 soft vision, Adidas Kanye 500 desrt rat blush, Adidas Kanye 500 stone, Adidas Kanye 500 utility black, Adidas Kanye 500 shadow black, and the Adidas Kanye 500 super moon.

This model is considered versatile that could fit almost any relaxed, laidback look. A pair of everyday tattered jeans with oversized tees gives you rugged style, while a pair of slacks topped with a button-down shirt and well-fitted blazer gives a rugged elegance vibe.

Notable Features

Even though the Yeezy 500 is presented in the muted color scheme, this Yeezy iteration is considered not boring. It has a well-sculpted midsole, giving it a dynamic hallmark look. This underfoot detail is made of the Adiprene technology to provide users a soft and lightweight ride. This cushioning effectively absorbs impact and optimizes the rebound.

Many fans also enjoyed the reflective piping found around the eyelets. This feature adds dimension when light strikes to this monochromatic sneaker during low lights.

Adidas Yeezy 500 History

Kanye and Adidas started their partnership in 2015. This partnership has found its niche in the dad sneaker trend. It ignited the debate on whether chunky old looking sneakers have a place in the modern fashion world or none.

It was also in that same year when they launched their first collaborative output dubbed as the Yeezy Boost 750. The following year, Adidas Yeezy unveiled the follow-up silhouette called Adidas Yeezy Boost 350. Subsequently, this partnership introduced the second priciest Yeezy ever revealed and called it the Adidas Yeezy 950 Duckboot.

                 The First Boost-less Yeezy

In 2017, Adidas and Kanye launched the first Boost-less Yeezy sneaker called the Yeezy 500. It was introduced in a bundle pack that comprises hoodie and sweat shorts. This iteration features a futuristic look that was taken a cue from 20-year old footwear. The revolutionary design of this sole was first seen in the Adidas KB8 III launched in 1999. This Kobe Bryant sneaker used the "Feet You Wear" sole that prevents the rolling of the ankle of basketball players.

Despite its visual appearance that first gained criticisms, this sneakers' oversized design fits the chunky kick trend today. It features paneled mesh and suede on its upper added with the retro vibe of its sole. This kick gained so much popularity that it was resold for hundreds of dollars higher than its original price. Until today, this kick is still considered one of the most popular in the Yeezy lineup, and its value has not died down yet.

In 2020, The Adidas Yeezy 500 has seven officially released colorways, namely blush, salt, stone, soft vision, utility black, supermoon yellow, and bone white. The brand also unveiled a high-top version of the Yeezy 500 called Yeezy 500 High. This version used the neoprene padding different from the mesh padding seen on its ancestor.
