Notable Features
Adidas Berlin has its way of making itself truly one of Adidas’ most iconic shoe models ever created. One feature that stands out is the unique upside-down “Berlin” text in gold foil that gives the Adidas Berlin its true identity.
History of the Adidas Berlin
Back in the late ‘70s towards the early ‘80s, Adidas released one of its most iconic series ever produced – the Adidas European City Series. The series includes 24 lifestyle shoes representing different cities throughout Europe such as London, Kopenhagen, Milano, Dublin, and Berlin among many others. Each of these shoes has its characteristics that highlight the city it typifies. Like the Adidas Stockholm, which mimics the Swedish national flag through its vivid colorway.
One of the silhouettes from the European City Series that recently received a re-issue version, under the Adidas Originals sub-brand, is the Adidas Berlin.
In February 2018, the classic Adidas Berlin trainers returned to the market in a limited reissue release. Launched as a part of the City Series reissue after its sister models, the London, the Bern, and the Dublin, this particular low-top sneaker came back with a slight tweak while retaining the Argentina and Sky Blue color palette.
Unlike in the original model, the 2018 reissue version displays the “Berlin” gold foil text in an upside-down fashion as a tribute to the first sample version of this shoe.
