Tretorn outdid it again with these Tretorn Nylite Hi 21 sneakers by introducing a hairy suede upper into the original canvas icon. The bicycle stitched laces now extend to the front of the shin as compared to its base model which lays low in front of the ankle. To compensate for the high top ensemble, padded collars give plush comfort around the ankle.

These men’s Tretorn Nylite Hi 21 sneakers come in a pack starting from size 7 to 14 including half sizes. Women are prized to share a piece of these almost-limited-edition-looking kicks by going one and a half sizes down from their standard sizing.

Beating down prized kicks is a long existing trend that had expanded decades. It is highly likely for every sneaker brand to be affected with this unholy pantheon, especially those which had existed for a thousand years. Kidding aside, Tretorn did it with their high top Nylites, and it turned out okay.

Paying homage to their roots, the Tretorn Nylite Hi 21 embellishes their iconic silhouette with markings that reflect the beaten-down path that the brand undertook throughout the years. The pristine white midsoles were distressed with scuff marks while doodles of “TRETORN” and “1891 SWEDEN” are found on the lateral sides of both shoes.

Men can partner these dirty-looking iterations with skinny jeans or slim cut pants. Joggers would also do the trick but should complement the color of the sneaker. Shorts could also be an option partnered by visible peeping socks.

Tretorns are known for their Gullwing flaps along the vamp, and the Tretorn Nylite Hi 21 obliged. These accents, however, sits above a luxurious suede upper with black outlines along the bicycle stitched lacebed. The takeaway features are the markings on the lateral sides, which reads “TRETORN” and “1891 SWEDEN.” Lastly, the midsoles are given a scuffed look for a finishing touch.

In the ‘60s, Tretorn introduced a revolutionary tennis shoe called the Nylite. The company’s long history with the sport takes them back to their early days, but it took them half a century to conceptualize footwear that would cater to their customer’s needs.

Function-wise, the Tretorn Nylite was one for the books. Not only was it favored by top players during the era of its release, but it also displays an exceptional design. This stylish facade enlisted the sneaker in the Preppy Handbook way back in the 80s, and everything since then had changed.

Decades have gone, and the Nylite stayed alive and kicking. Many material renditions and remakes were done to the Nylite throughout the years. Among these were the Tretorn Nylite Hi 21 which is a high top sneaker that takes a nod to its Swedish roots.

  • The Tretorn Gullwing logo on the middle is stitched.
  • The sneakers linings are made out of textile.
  • Adding comfort underfoot is the EcoOrtholite footbed.
  • Traction and grip are administered by the rubber outsole.
  • It originally retails for $120 a pop.
