Size and fit

Another addition to TOMS’ men’s low-top offerings is the Baja Slip-On sneaker. This shoe is solely offered in men’s sizing that ranges from US 7 to 14 in medium width. Ladies who want to cop a pair should go 1.5 sizes down from their normal shoe size. For example, if you wear a women’s shoe in 9 it is roughly equivalent to a men’s size 7.5

According to reviews, this kick generally runs true to size with a few complaints about its initial narrow fit, which eventually loosens after several uses.

TOMS Baja Slip-On Style

With its laidback and versatile style, the Baja Slip-On appeals to consumers who love fuss-free looks or are always on the go and do not have the time to think about their outfit. Either way, this shoe’s classic design transcends fast-paced fashion trends and could easily match with almost every ensemble.

The guys can pair this simple shoe with shorts and a linen top for a trip to the beach or opt for cropped chino trousers, a button-down tee, and a bucket hat for that trendy dad-inspired outfit. Meanwhile, ladies are presented with more variety as they can rock it with dresses, skirts, shorts, or pants.

Notable Features

Apart from the Baja Slip-On’s vegan-friendly materials it also features Ortholite insoles for excellent comfort and cushioning. Vulcanized outsoles make for light fit and flexibility while twin elastic gores provide a comfortable snug fit.

TOMS Baja Slip-On History

Hailing from Playa Del Ray in California, founder Blake Mycoskie established TOMS footwear in 2006 after a trip from Argentina. From there he found out about alpargatas, a canvas slip-on shoe used by local polo players. Mycoskie brought the idea of the alpargatas back to the States and used it as the prototype for TOMS’ first shoe designs. These classic and simple slip-on designs were the catalyst for the brand’s success and popularity, as it was met with fervor by most consumers.

The company’s business design is termed “One for One,” which guarantees that with every pair purchased TOMS will donate a new pair to a child in need. This model was designed by the brand following Mycoskie’s charity work in Buenos Aires where most kids were barefoot.

Today, the brand is so successful that their product line grew from only footwear to now including apparel, bags, eyewear, and coffee. But their shoes remain as the brand’s most fundamental product.

The TOMS Baja Slip-On is one of the company’s latest footwear offering. It is a part of the Topanga collection and crafted from vegan-friendly materials. Although most of this shoe’s colorways are crafted from the heritage canvas material, note that materials still vary. The brand has made it easier for consumers by including a specific colorway’s material in its name.

Some of the colorways are Birch Heritage Canvas Gum, Black on Black Heritage Canvas, Navy Leaf Denim, Drizzle Grey Heritage Canvas, Navy Heritage Canvas, Black Heritage Canvas, Red Ochre Heritage Canvas, and Air Force/Navy Heritage Canvas.

  • Leather heel accents provide a luxury touch to the overall design.
