I can use it in different conditions, in all areas I'm working.
If you like mountaineering and climbing, this is gonna be a good choice.
I’d prefer a stiffer boot for rocky terrain and deeper lugs for snow or soft ground, but the The North Face Verto S4K GTX is a good lightweight all-rounder.
Beyond question, this is a very impressive debut from The North Face. Recommended.
All things considered this boot is fantastic.
- The Verto S4K GTX from The North Face is a crampon-compatible boot designed for mountaineering over mixed terrain. Its insulated construction lets users undertake icy adventures. Its waterproof upper is planted on a heavy duty lasting board made of polypropylene.
- Cushioning underfoot is courtesy of the cleat’s midsole. The North Face engineers gave it a TPU Cradle insert at the heel for extra stability around the rearfoot region. Slip and skid resistance, on the other hand, is thanks to the Vibram Mulaz outsole.
The North Face’s Verto S4K GTX is a generally true-to-size, high-cut mountaineering cleat for men and women. It is offered in standard width in full and half sizes. Its fit may be adjusted with the use of the footwear’s to-toe lacing system with locking instep eyelets.
Enabling mountaineers to climb with adequate grip is the footwear’s Vibram Mulaz outsole. It features mostly blocky lugs lined up horizontally along its borders to give users better control during descents and ascents. A climbing zone is engineered at its forefoot to allow for precise footing on narrow ledges.
The Verto S4K GTX provides footing balance and ground protection with adequate cushioning thanks to its four-part, co-molded midsole. It has a TPU heel element for added stability and a TPU shank for additional support around the ankle region.
For extra comfort, The North Face designers gave this gear a premium footbed made of EVA, called Northotic Pro+. It is engineered with forefoot pads from Ortholite and a gel heel to improve the level of comfort it provides.
This mountaineering cleat from The North Face has a sturdy over-the-ankle upper imbued with a Gore-Tex membrane for waterproofing and breathability. It comes wrapped with a PU mudguard from Smartlite to strengthen the upper further and give it sufficient resistance against abrasive elements. It is also built with an additional component at the Achilles heel called the X-Frame for extra support without sacrificing flexibility.
A pull loop is engineered at the heel to speed up on and off. Its lacing system uses combination eyelets, the top ones of which, particularly the open hooks, are made of stainless steel. Its laces, on the other hand, are made up of synthetic cords interwoven together.
- The Verto S4K GTX is compatible with hybrid (semi-automatic) crampons.
