Good to know

-Designed to overcome all sorts of challenges on the trail, this hiker is equipped with a performance mesh upper, a waterproof HydroSeal membrane, and the EXTS all-traction sole. It also integrates the CRADLE heel-stability technology that provides cushioning and support necessary for a safe and speedy hike.

-This boot has a single-density EVA midsole for lightweight cushioning, a TPU toe cap and mudguard that protect the feet against sharp objects on the trail, and an OrthoLite footbed for added support and comfort.

With an all-mesh upper, the Vals Mid Waterproof has a soft and snug interior overall. It's a mid-top model that equates to more ankle coverage and support. This boot features a traditional lace-up closure for a secure fit. The tightness around the ankle can be adjusted separately from the midfoot, thanks to the two additional hooks at the top. Also, the tongue and collar are lightly padded for comfort.

For the outsole, The North Face Vals Mid Waterproof men's boots feature the EXTS traction system designed for both dry and wet conditions. It's made of two kinds of rubber which have varying densities and characteristics. The aggressive multidirectional lugs bite well into different surfaces, including loose dirt, gravel, and mud while the unique hobnail structure helps keep debris and sediments off the shoe.

This boot features a single-density EVA midsole that works well in dispersing body weight and stabilizing the foot. EVA is a type of foam that is lightweight, flexible, and cushions really well. While it isn't as durable as the PU midsole, EVA works perfectly fine for hiking boots and other performance footwear, except for mountaineering and backpacking boots wherein sturdier and firmer midsoles are required.

For added cushioning, this boot comes with an Ortholite footbed that is long-wearing, cushiony, and breathable.

The Vals Mid Waterproof boots from The North Face boast of performance mesh uppers that are highly resistant to abrasion and wearing. The protective upper is reinforced by synthetic collar overlays, a toe cap made of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) and mudguard. The Vals Mid also has a molded heel design. For waterproofing, this shoe features the HydroSeal membrane which is made of micro-porous, hydrophobic lamination.

Completing the upper is a lace-up closure for a secure fit.
