Size and fit

Taos Top Star shoes are sold in women’s sizes, which range from 6 to 11 in medium B width only. An adjustable fit is provided by the lace-up closure system embellished with metal eyelets. The sneakers reportedly run true to size, although they can only accommodate thin socks if you want to don those on. Thicker socks require going a size up.

These sneakers have a high-top profile with a somewhat narrow opening which may make access to the footwear a bit time-consuming. Almost all of the laces have to be loosened for you to be able to fit your feet in.

The footbeds are comfy and arch supportive, but they’re also removable in case you want to put in something a bit more customized to your feet. The shoes have enough cushioning except for the heel part, which may feel a bit flatter than usual for a Taos model.

Taos Top Star Style

Your everyday adventures call for comfy yet stylish footwear. Taos Top Star shoes tick both of those boxes. The brand has always been known for infusing their creations with a hint of their Taos, New Mexico roots, and this can be seen in the touches of metal throughout these sneakers.

The lightweight canvas uppers feature a soft wash look. Detailed and seamless stitching throughout the uppers forms a pretty, toned-down design.

A good variety of colors are available for Taos Top Stars including bordeaux, golden tan, sage, white, indigo, and graphite.

Notable Features

It won’t be a Taos if it doesn’t come with the accompanying Taos comfort. Top Stars contain the brand’s Curves and Pods footbeds which give these kicks that excellent comfort that users are raving about. The Curves in the footbeds contain enough support for the arches (by conforming perfectly to the insides of the feet) and metatarsals (by alleviating fatigue from the balls of the feet). Its Pods, meanwhile, absorb shock and provide cushioning.

The footbeds are also treated with SILVADUR Antimicrobial Shield which helps keep the feet dry and odor-free.

Taos Top Star History

Taos was founded in the year 2005 as a sandal range, although it has expanded since to producing cleats, sneakers, ballet flats, oxfords, and more. The brand’s range of footwear heavily evokes the company’s New Mexico origins, which is steeped in artisan heritage as shown in the metals, embroidery, and touches of nature that predominate its designs.

The self-proclaimed David to the sneaker world’s Goliaths has seen its share of the sneaker market steadily rise in the few short years it has been operating. The release of the Active Collection, which blew through retailers in 2017, helped the company achieve its double-digit increase in sales yet again.

The Taos Active range, which Top Stars belong to, is known for its tagline, “Comfort built from the inside out.” Led by the Curves and Pods footbed, the collection features shoes that never compromise on comfort and support and yet are constructed with an undeniable style that is distinct. Rich earth tones also define this line.
