Supra Skytop V History

In 2007, the Skytop I was launched by Supra displaying a super high top profile with vulcanized rubber outsole. Although this design was thought as 'crazy' when it was first introduced, this silhouette has turned as a staple in skateboarding community as well as in sneakers world.

It was designed by the trio Chad Muska, Angel Cabada, and Josh Brubaker that eventually made a significant impact in the skateboarding domain. They envisioned of creating a skate shoe that is unique and fun to look at, which was inspired by the 90s basketball shoe. The trio wanted to create footwear with high performance, comfort, and fashionable twist.

The Skytop I was later on seen worn by Lil Waye, Kanye West, and Jay-Z. It was well-received in 2008 and considered one of the best shoes in that year which led to being often replicated. The Supra Skytop 1 was consistently featured in high-end fashion brand and mostly set the trend and turned into a cult classic.

The Skytop II was created with a more fashionable look than the original Skytop. It displayed the favorite colors of its designers and considered the craziest release. The Skytop II quickly landed in the most sought-after pairs when Justin Bieber was seen sporting this high-top footwear. Supra once again captured the attention of the hipsters, skaters, rappers, and everyone else.

The Skytop III was launched in 2011 and was considered a different beast from the first two iterations. It displays more basketball look with a mid-top profile. The Skytop III is considered more functional and was engineered for heavy-duty skating.

The fourth version was launched in 2013 that set another trend by incorporating a distinct detail, and removable collar. The Skytop IV model had a lightweight and displayed futuristic look. The collar-less look fits the skating world up until hitting the club because of its flawless comfort level and spotless style.

Ten years since it was initially released, the brand launched the fifth version of the Skytop displaying slimmer, sexier, and streamlined profile. The mid-top Skytop V merged the fashion and performance look by using reinforcements and easy to wear design. The brand did not slow down in the comfort level which makes this shoe easily recognized in the skaters and the non-skaters world.

Supra Skytop V Style

The mid-top Supra Skytop V displays a positively distracting look. This high fashion profile has streamlined guise by perfectly blending the running footwear elements with the skateboarding details. This shoe focuses merely on delivering durable and stable footwear without forgetting style.

Meanwhile, some ladies usually strut their Skytop V with fitted or flowy mini dresses, leggings with oversized sweaters, or skinnies with button down shirt.

Fit & Sizing

The Supra Skytop V is available for both gender's sizes; Men have a size range of 4 to 14 US and women have a size range of 5.5 to 15.5 US both in medium width. It has the internal neoprene and Lycra-based bootie construction reinforced with the 3-piece TPU cage and elastic bands to deliver custom, secure fit. Meanwhile, it has a cushy footbed have deep heel cup lined with textile to enhance stability and comfort.
