As indicated on the name of the shoe, these are designed with a lace-to-toe feature. The seven eyelets that extend all the way up to the forefoot secures the feet entirely.

Although the Top-Sider has been the most identifiable product of the brand, it also expanded on different types of sneakers over the years. An existent example of this is the Sperry Flex Deck LTT Canvas. This sneaker features a simple but modern design, with certain pops of color on the inset. Coming in versatile colorways of black, navy, gray, and white, these sneakers can take anyone from day to night, whatever the occasion may be.

Because of the strong heritage of the brand in boat shoes, traction is one of the features that has been immensely attributed to it. Even if the Sperry Flex Deck LTT Canvas has a style that swerves from the legendary Top-Sider, it possesses dynamic traction, thanks to the Molded Hydro Grip and Adaptive Wave Siping rubber outsole. The flex grooves are designed strategically, a mix of small and wavy slits and big and deep wavy pattern. This disperses water away whether the surface is wet or dry.

The SON-R Technology, a unique outsole that is engineered to endure different water sports, is another stellar addition to this shoe. This advancement has anatomically-placed pods that work wonderfully with a textured insole that has independent chambers. It results in a great response to the pressure placed on the foot, delivering better stability and balance on different terrains.

Because of a curious mind and keen observance, Paul Sperry was able to build a company that changed how people look at shoes. Even though accidental, the conception of the iconic Top-Sider started when Paul, born in a family with a strong sea-faring background, had an experience of struggling of walking on the slippery deck while sailing on rough seas. His journey of finding a solution for this started in 1935 when he noticed his dog effortlessly walk through an icy surface in Connecticut.

It made him look at the dog's paws and patterned the bottom of the shoe similarly. The insane grip on the footwear filled in a whole market of people craving for boat shoes that are merely functional. Just five years after the launch, Cruising Club of America members wrote to Paul asking for a pair, as no other footwear kept them safe. Besides that, the US War Department also declared the Sperry Top-Sider as one of the US Navy's official shoes during WWII.

  • Users can avail of the Sperry Flex Deck LTT Canvas for $69.95 at the Sperry Website and other leading footwear retailer sites.
  • The upper is composed of a lightweight and breathable canvas material. Moreover, it is injected with color-fast technology which means that the dye will not fade or wash out despite cleaning.
