Sperry branding can be found on the tongue and heel.

In 1935, sailor Paul A. Sperry decided that he needed more effective non-slip shoes to navigate his boat deck safely. He experimented with many styles until he noticed his dog Prince's ability to run across the icy ground without skidding. He took a look at his pet’s paws and observed unique grooves, which inspired him to use a siping method in the soles of his shoes.

Soon, Sperry entered production, and his shoes became popular in the boating and sailing communities. They became known as Sperrys or Top-Siders and even attracted the U.S. Navy, which produced the shoes for its sailors in the Naval Academy. The business grew so big that Sperry decided to sell his company to U.S. Rubber in 1940. Today, the brand is a subsidiary of Wolverine World Wide.

Since then, the Sperry brand became known not just for its maritime-inspired shoes but for its lifestyle sneakers as well. Such models as the low-top Sperry Crest Vibe Liberty Fabric Sneaker keep the brand timeless, with a fresh and modern twist. The shoe is another version of the well-loved Crest Vibe sneaker, known for its laidback appeal. This edition is no different, elevating things up with a cool and unique print.
