Updates to So iLL Free Range Pro
- Developed in partnership with Toshi Takeuchi (one of the most world-renowned professional high-grade climbers), the Free Range Pro has been reimagined to give senders enhanced performance in the modern climbing scene. It has improved flexibility this time around.
- Compared with its former self, this So iLL rock climbing shoe now comes with thicker forefoot rubber and a stiffer toe box. These enhancements help wearers to toe hook with increased efficiency. It also has a reshaped heel zone for more worry-free heel-hooking maneuvers.
- The Free Range Pro is a vegan piece of footwear. No animal substance was used in the construction of this climbing shoe.
Profile
Downturn. The So iLL Free Range Pro has an aggressively downward camber. Its highly downturned front end delivers precision and enough mounting power on extra tiny edges and nubbins. Shoes with this type of camber are ideally suitable for single-pitch climbs.
Applications. Bouldering, sport, and trad are the types of climbs for which the Free Range Pro is engineered. It is primarily intended for intermediate climbers. It may be used both indoors and outdoors.
Fit
The Free Range Pro from So iLL is a rock shoe with a low-top ankle cuff. Since this is a unisex shoe, women are advised to order a full size smaller than their street shoe size. Men who climb grades V5 and higher may need to go up half a size for a comfy fit. Stretch may be minimal in this shoe as it is a fully synthetic product. It is built on an asymmetric last, which means the foot will have to bend inward within its confines, causing moderate pressure around the arch and forefoot. Its Velcro closure provides a customized lockdown.
Excellent surface traction
The So iLL Free Range Pro relies on its Dark Matter rubber outsole where surface traction underfoot is needed.
Flexible
It has an overall thickness of 3.2 mm. Its designers gave it a split-type construction for enhanced flexibility.
Provides excellent mounting support
This rock shoe comes with a heavy-duty midsole for mounting support.
Excellent heel-hooking performance
It has a level of stiffness that grants extra security during heel-hooking scenarios.
Easy to wear
The foot in the Free Range Pro is encased in its low-cut synthetic upper. It comes with a liner. Owners can get in and out of its confines quickly by means of the pair of pull loops attached to its heel.
Provides climbing security
Its entire lower section and instep zone are heavily randed for climbing security. A single adjustable hook-and-loop strap makes up its closure system.
