Updates to Skechers GOrun Sonic 2

  • The Skechers GOrun Sonic 2 is a daily running shoe that features proprietary technologies and features that ensure each performance is well-supported and well-executed. It may have a standard running shoe look that’s not very appealing, but it’s efficient in delivering responsive cushioning, breathable coverage and reliable traction.
  • The upper unit was constructed to have a sock-like fit. Such a feature makes sure that the sleeve accommodates the foot and doesn’t irritate it or cause any discomfort. Light padding keeps the foot in place and hugs it comfortably.
  • The sole unit makes use of a proprietary Skechers compound that delivers responsive cushioning, protection from impact and even some memory retention for an overall comfortable underfoot feel. The mid-sole shape was intended to encourage a more balanced running experience through mid-foot striking.
  • The material on the outsole provides limited durability, in specific sections of the sole where wear and tear are most common. It also delivers reliable traction whenever it is needed. Flex grooves allow the entire platform to follow the natural movements of the foot, thus making it more flexible when going through the gait cycle and reaching the toe-off phase.

Skechers GOrun Sonic 2 size and fit

The Skechers GOrun Sonic 2 has a standard running shoe length. It comes in sizes that adhere to the standard sizing schemes to which runners are accustomed. It has a medium width when it comes to its heel, mid-foot and forefoot sections. Its semi-curved shape allows the natural curvature of the human foot to acclimate well to it.

Outsole

The GOimpulse sensor design makes use of circular pods on the outsole, which deliver ground feedback and flexibility to the runner. It also gives traction where it is needed. The main sole unit itself is exposed to the surface, but it’s a durable material and it can resist abrasion.

Flex grooves are cut all throughout the length of the external sole unit. It allows the foot to move more naturally through the gait cycle, thus making each step freer and more enabled.

Midsole

The Resalyte is a trademark foam unit from Skechers. It’s made from a compound that’s injection molded, which is a process that maintains structure and durability of the material. It’s not a layer that’s just bonded onto another mid-sole part, but a whole platform that’s reliable in service and performance. It protects the foot from impact, it gives cushioning, and it maintains the natural flexibility of the foot.

The M-Strike is a mid-sole construction that puts more emphasis on the mid-foot section. It’s actually made to encourage more mid-foot striking. Doing so balances the distribution of shock and lets the runner go towards the toe-off more easily as this mid-sole design propels the foot forward.

Upper

The mesh material that’s used in this shoe is breathable and comfortable. It covers the foot well in a snug yet secure covering. It seamlessly lets air in to keep the foot cool and dry at all times.

The upper unit features a sock-like fit that’s comfortable and very forgiving to the skin. It gives the runner a sensation that the fabric is one with the foot. It’s not restrictive or irritating, so sockless running becomes viable for the Skechers GOrun Sonic 2.

The Ortholite Sock Liner is placed right on top of the mid-sole unit. This pliable material adds a bit more cushioning to the foot, as well as anti-microbial and anti-moisture mechanics that maintain a clean and a healthy interior environment that lasts.
