Skechers Diameter - Selent History

American brand Skechers has been manufacturing shoes for the past 25 years. After finding a niche market in producing casual shoes, father and son entrepreneurs Robert and Michael Greenberg established the company in Los Angeles, California in 1992.The famous shoe company employed Hollywood celebrities as their first endorsers to reach out to a younger footwear market.

Their Manhattan Beach headquarters became the ground zero for hip designs that initially were utility boots and skate shoes for men and women. Later on, the company also diversified their shoe catalog catering to children and further expanding into performance shoes and apparel.

This diversification effort of the footwear portfolio resulted in the creation of two divisions:  performance shoes and lifestyle shoes.Skechers utilized heavily their signature Memory Foam insoles that help boost comfort levels of their shoes. The Memory Foam technology’s usage became the norm in most of the lifestyle shoe starting in the 2000s improving the design with technology that included Skech Air and flexible outsoles for a sleek air cushioned midsole.

The foam materials for midsoles were also upgraded through the years with the use of gel-infused lightweight material for added shock absorption.Skechers released its Diameter series of casual shoes as early as 2016 with various designs and stitching pattern usually in black and brown colorways so that it can pass up as a regular office shoe for smart casual styled events and occasions.

The Skechers Diameter – Selent sneaker, with an updated Memory Foam insole and flat lacing, primarily uses the smooth leather material in its upper with synthetic fabric overlays and stitching accents for a casual comfort oxford design for men.
