Shoe is made very well, breathable, durable, stylish, flimsy insole, too tapered toebox, and heavy for its price.
This pair of Sidi cycling shoes is engineered to withstand the chaos on the road. It is built using hard-wearing materials which are also replaceable, so you can get more out of the product. It is meant to be snug to avoid hot spots. However, the closing mechanisms are designed to allow for micro-adjustments so wearers can achieve their desired fit.
Rigidity. The bottom unit of the Sidi Kaos is crafted from the MILLENNIUM 4 CARBON COMPOSITE SOLE. This compound is the fusion of nylon and carbon fibers, resulting in a very solid platform. This innovative material is also water-resistant, durable, and does not lose its shape with use or changes in temperature and humidity.
Traction. This road cycling shoes from Sidi features anti-slip pads on the toe and heel sections. They provide grip and make walking more comfortable for the wearer.
The Sidi Kaos is a 3-bolt cleat system trainer. It is compatible with bike pedals such as the Look Keo 2 Max, the Shimano PD-R8000, and the Time Xpresso 2, to name a few.
Protection. A synthetic material makes up the top of the Sidi Kaos. The shiny material offers protection against the elements. As a bonus, the smooth surface makes it easy to clean and maintain.
Comfort. Perforation vents are present on the vamp and quarters. They aid in heat dissipation and moisture regulation. The inside is covered in a soft cloth that helps in moisture regulation and prevention of hot spots.
Lockdown. The Kaos uses two types of locking mechanisms: the TECNO-3 SYSTEM and the caliper buckle. The caliper buckle works with the soft instep closure, which is a broad strap that evenly distributes pressure on the instep. The strap can be adjusted on both ends, so the foam pad is centered.
As for the TECNO-3 SYSTEM, it ensures a secure wrap with a turn of the dial. The buckle has buttons on the side which can be used for micro-adjustments to achieve optimal foothold and comfort.
At the back is the anatomically-shaped heel cup. This plastic component reinforces the rear, so it doesn’t lose its shape with use. But its primary purpose is to prevent heel lifts, which could reduce power transfer.
A thin foam insole lines the inside of the footwear. It prevents the foot from sliding inside while pedaling to avoid chafing and blisters.
Most Sidi bike shoes are meant to be serviceable. The replaceable parts on the Kaos include the heel pad, the insole, the caliper buckle, the strap for caliper buckle, the Tecno 3-System, and the Soft Instep Closure.
