Who should buy the Sidi Jarin
Sidi created the Jarin shoe mainly for gravel cycling enthusiasts. It is a solid option if you:
- Need a shoe that is specifically designed to bridge the gap between the road shoe and MTB shoe.
- Need a shoe that can be used by gravel cyclists, spontaneous cyclists who like to do both road and off-road adventures, and who love a sleek-looking bike shoe.
SRS Carbon-Ground MTB sole technology
These Sidi shoes employ the brand’s SRS Carbon-Ground MTB sole technology. This full carbon sole is engineered to elevate the performance of a mountain bike. The brand claims that this sole type features a reduced weight by about 100 grams per pair compared to the previous carbon sole of the Sidi Dragon SRS.
Replaceable rubber pads and integrated MTB plate
The Sidi Jarin features renewable toe, central, and heel rubber inserts. This footwear also provides slots for additional toe studs, which enhances overall traction for extra slippery surfaces. Note that the studs are sold separately.
When using MTB pedals, it is recommended to use a reinforcement plate that is situated between the cleat and the shoe. The purpose of the plate is to prevent damage to the sole. The Sidi Jarin’s integrated plate helps save money and eliminates the added weight of an external reinforcement plate.
Sidi Jarin's cleat system
These Sidi cycling shoes feature the traditional MTB two-bolt cleat system. Some of the pedals that are suitable for this footwear are Time Speciale 12, Crank Brother Candy Clipless, and Shimano M530 SPD.
TechPro Matt Microfiber material
These Sidi MTB shoes utilize the brand’s TechPro Matt Microfiber material for its upper. It is an environmentally friendly microfiber PU textile that is made in Italy. It is characterized to be resilient, light, and water-resistant. The textile is also Oeko-Tex certified, which means that it does not contain any harmful substances.
The toe cap is reinforced with a non-slip rubber material to protect the front part from bumps and scratches.
Snug fit
Dual Tecno-3 dials govern this pair’s lockdown fit. The forefoot and midfoot areas are secured by a dial placed on top of the instep. This yields a snug fit sans pressure points. The upper area of the foot is clinched by the combination of a Tecno-3 dial and a Soft Instep Closure 4 strap. The Soft Instep Closure 4 is an anatomically shaped strap that uses soft foam to evenly distribute pressure. It can be adjusted on both sides to eliminate the need for an additional spacer.
Excellent heel lockdown
The Sidi Jarin shoe features the brand’s heel cup design. It is designed to keep the foot in place and prevent deformations due to dynamic performance or prolonged pressure.
