Sidi Dimaro: The brand's first gravity-oriented cycling shoe

Banking on decades of experience in manufacturing road and cross-country bike shoes, the Dimaros are quite something new. Sidi's previous MTB shoes have leaned more towards general trail bike shoes and were geared for entry-level riders. On the other hand, Dimaro is a performance shoe designed for enduro, MTB, and downhill.

Highlights of the Sidi Dimaro

  • A combination of lace-up and Velcro straps provides a lockdown fit and keeps the lace from getting caught in the bike.
  • Skate-inspired casual style that's in-demand lately.
  • Both flat bike shoe and SPD users can utilize this model as it features both components.
  • Stiff Vibram rubber outsole for power transfer and traction on the pedal and slippery trails.
  • Scratch-resistant and protective toe cap for durability and protection against bumps and impacts.
  • Elastic heel neoprene collar to keep dirt and dust out of the shoe.

Other gravity-specific bike shoes

Shimano GR901. This Shimano bike shoe also uses a combination of laces and Velcro straps. However, this pair is solely a flat cycling shoe that comes at a more budget-friendly price than the Sidi Dimaro. It is recommended to bikers who are on a budget and don't use clipless cycling shoes.

Northwave Enduro Mid. This footwear is also a flat MTB shoe, but instead of using Vibram like the Dimaros, it uses Michelin rubbers. It also employs a more modern closure mechanism: single BOA and a Velcro strap. Lastly, it features a mid-profile in the medial collar to enhance ankle protection against bike bumps.
