Seavees Legend Sneaker Standard History
In 1964, SeaVees was established by BF Goodrich as one of the casual sneaker pioneers. It was able to capture the youthful spirit and defined California in the golden age for seven years. However, it also vanished without a trace in a flash.
SeaVees remained quiescent for almost 40 years until Steven Tiller rediscovered the brand behind a glass case of one of the Tokyo’s thrift stores. Tiller headed back to Boston and sold his properties. With the help of his wife, Tiller setup a shop in Santa Barbara and led the rebirth of the forgotten American Original.
Among the stylish footwear that the brand released was the SeaVees Legend Sneaker Standard. It was initially introduced in June 1964, capturing California in its golden age. This sneaker has a silhouette which was featured in an advertising campaign in Reader’s Digest and Playboy, among other mainstream magazines.
