78 / 100 based on 4 expert reviews

  • 70 / 100 by RunRepeat • Avery Smith • Level 3 expert

The bottom line is that although the Palani is a high-quality shoe, there are other running shoes on the market that completely outperform the Palani in every area.

  • 85 / 100 by The Endurance Store • Mark • Level 1 expert

It's got a good grip on the bottom.

  • 80 / 100 by Trail Running Mag UK • Trail Running Mag UK • Level 3 expert

True enough, on hard-packed surfaces and rock they fly. They’re suited to a broader foot (reducing my technical confidence) but still comfortable and fun to run in.

  • 90 / 100 by Mountain Peak Fitness • Iain Ridgway • Level 1 expert

The big plus for me with the kinabalu’s is they are super versatile and more than sufficient for almost all trail conditions.

Updates to Scott T2 Kinabalu 3.0

  • The additional Rock Protection Plate protects the foot against rocks and impact forces, thereby enhancing the performance of the outsole.
  • The Aerofoam induced midsole offers the optimal combination of comfortability and responsiveness. The high-quality foam material ensures a smooth heel to toe transition for a faster, more productive ride. For creating a smooth transition through the gait cycle, the shoe uses the rocker shaped eRide technology.
  • The closed mesh upper and the TPU overlays provide the perfect combination of strength, breathability, and comfort. Also, the materials feel very soft and seamless against the skin.
  • The performance of the Scott T2 Kinabalu is further enhanced with the help of the Sandwich Mesh Tongue. The strategically shaped tongue reduces the impact from the pressure points, thereby distributing the impact forces evenly throughout the surface. Also, it enhances the comfortability of the shoe.

Scott T2 Kinabalu 3.0 size and fit

Although the shoe comes in the standard medium width of D and B for men and women, respectively, it has a rather narrow toe-box construction and is, therefore, more suitable for individuals with medium to narrow foot dimensions. As far as the length is concerned, it is advisable to go half a size up in this shoe.

Outsole

The Wet Traction Rubber on the outsole is highly resistant to abrasion and aberrations and provides traction on a variety of surfaces. It is also very lightweight and durable.

The shoe utilizes the Rock Protection Plate for additional protection against rocks and outcrops. The feature further enhances the durability of the Scott T2 Kinabalu 3.0.

Midsole

The AeroFoam+ technology in the midsole provides a perfect blend of lightweight cushioning and optimal responsiveness. The energy-returning properties of this material results in the much-popular bouncy feel of the shoe, thus keeping the runner motivated throughout the ride.

The rocker shaped eRide technology in the midsole promotes an efficient and faster running style by stabilizing the mid-stance and converting the impact force into propulsive energy.

The Scott T2 Kinabalu 3.0 utilizes training insoles in the midsole for enhanced cushioning and underfoot support. It also has Racing Insoles which further enhance the flexibility and lightweight performance. These insoles are breathable in nature.

Upper

The Scott T2 Kinabalu 3.0 features the closed mesh structure in its upper. The material effectively keeps out debris while also maintaining an environment of optimal breathability inside the shoe.

For reinforcing its structure, the shoe uses the TPU Overlays in its upper. These overlays provide additional protection to the foot. They also have a smooth and seamless construction that’s skin-friendly.

The Sandwich Mesh Tongue is shaped strategically to protect the foot from debris while maintaining a dry and breathable environment inside the shoe. It also reduces the impact of the pressure points by evenly distributing the force.

The Lace Bungee technology of the Scott T2 Kinabalu 3.0 is quick to fasten and is more efficient in maintaining the snug fit around the foot for the user throughout the running session.

The Strobel Last across the full-length of the upper enhances comfortability of the shoe and provides additional protection underfoot.
