Overall, I am fully impressed and satisfied with these shoes. Would I recommend these? Shoe-betcha!
The Rapid is a Scarpa gear that connects the divide between running shoes and trail kicks. It is built for speed and agility with its flexible and lightweight construction.
Underfoot protection is courtesy of the hiker’s compression-molded midsole. Getting a secure grip over treacherous terrain, on the other hand, comes by means of Scarpa’s own outsole technology.
The Scarpa Rapid is a generally true-to-size, low-top speed hiking shoe for men and women. It comes in standard width in half and full sizes. Allowing owners to get a customized lockdown is the footwear’s ghillie lacing. The extra pair of eyelets at the ankle line allow for a snugger collar fit.
With its Speed Lite HDR outsole, this hiking footgear from Scarpa offers enough sticking power on various types of outdoor surfaces. As it has multi-directional lugs and triangular grooves, wearers can navigate the slippery parts of the trail with enhanced slip and skid resistance. This hardwearing rubber component also provides additional bump protection outside surface traction.
The Scarpa Rapid grants sufficient underfoot protection and stability with its molded midsole made of EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate). Its tapered construction gives the shoe a shock-absorbent heel and a svelte overall profile.
A removable insole called H-EVA plate sits right on top of this cushy yet resilient layer. Its presence doubles down on comfort underfoot. It also gives hikers extra rearfoot support with its cratered design.
Recycled polyester mesh is the material used both in the Rapid’s low-cut upper and inner liner. Its stitched-on overlays are made of 1.8-mm thick suede leather. It comes with a partial rand at the toe for additional protection against cuts, scuffs, and scrapes. To help users get into and out of the shoe with relative ease, Scarpa gear crafters engineered its heel with a sturdy pull tab.
The hiker’s closure system features lace holes that are a combination of plated eyelets and fabric loops. Its flat lace is made of a heavy-duty synthetic material.
