Updates to Scarpa’s Gecko approach shoe

Scarpa Gecko scarpa

Every once in a while, approach hikers from Scarpa get revamped to benefit the modern climber. In this regard, they deemed it necessary to update the Gecko. Here are some of its changes:

Shaved-off weight

This approach shoe is lighter than its former self by around 60 g, allowing for swifter strides on ascents.

Moisture protection

Its abrasion-resistant upper now comes built with water-repellent suede leather, which will keep your tootsies dry in drizzly rainfall.

Improved eyelets

To extend the lifespan of the shoe’s lacing system, Scarpa engineers reinforced most of its eyelets with buffed plating.
