Use - The engineering of the Spitfire 2 is intended for optimal performance in track running meets. It can function in meets such as short-distance races and sprinting meets.
Spike Type - Similar to other track spikes, pyramid pins are affixed to the sprint shoe. These are ¼ inch in length for optimal, featherlight traction. These dig into the surface with every stride of the runner for stability and speed.
Spike Plate - To maximize the grip of the running shoe, a seven-pin Pebax® plate is equipped to the outsole. It has a good balance of rigidity and lightness to prevent drag from occurring. This helps maintain steady yet swift performance.
Aside from addressing propulsion and security, comfort is also one of the integral qualities delivered by Spitfire 2. To do so, a die-cut EVA sockliner is embedded within the midsole. It helps promote responsiveness and underfoot cushioning.
The rest of the spike’s makeup resembles that of the predecessor. A seven-pin Pebax® plate is responsible for the versatile, superb traction of the running shoe.
To complement the distance plate, an XT LITE rubber outsole is equipped. This is fashioned into the design to yield added grip and durability.
The Saucony Spitfire 2 is styled using the standard width for both men and women. Thus, purchasers can get a pair with their usual size preference.
Permitting a dialed-in, accurate fit is the classic lacing system of the Spitfire 2. To further support and lockdown, a midfoot strap is also incorporated. To encourage an adaptive fit, synthetic upper wraps around the contours of the foot. Lastly, the die-cut EVA midsole promotes a snug, supportive fit.
The outsole of the Saucony Spitfire 2 is a combination of both Pebax® plate and XT LITE rubber. This composition amplifies sturdiness, traction, and lightness.
The seven-pin Pebax® plate of the running spike is intended to maintain the rigidity of the sprint shoe. This attribute solicits propulsion. Since it’s a high-strength, polymer-based plate, it provides durability. This characteristic permits protection from naturally abrasive track elements. The same component is present in the Nike Zoom Victory 3.
To complement the distance plate, an XT LITE outsole is also supplemented. Aside from exhibiting great strength, it also has grip-generating properties while keeping a light profile.
Found within the platform is a die-cut EVA footbed that stores ample cushioning. This construction targets shock mitigation and plush underfoot cushioning. It is also highly durable, withstanding natural wear and tear.
Lightweight synthetics comprise the upper of the Saucony Spitfire 2. These have foot-conforming qualities, providing a sock-like, snug fit. These materials are also highly breathable, promoting a healthy foot environment. Moreover, these keep weight at an absolute minimum, cohering the overall featherlight engineering of the track shoe.
Just like the series’ previous model, this sprint shoe implements a dual fastening system. It sports a traditional lace-up closure for an adjustable fit. On top of it, a cross strap is executed. It is made of Velcro strap that allows for a convenient lockdown.
