Saucony Jazz O Cozy History
Massachusetts brand Saucony’s history dates back to the 19th century. Formerly a children’s shoe manufacturer, its business only thrived and reached its golden age in the 80s and 90s. It was during this era when the brand launched most of their iconic models, the famous Jazz included.
In those days, folks into distance running didn’t have a choice but to endure the impact of the sport. Keen to the needs of consumers, Saucony set their sights on creating the best possible running shoe. Optimal comfort, lightweight impact protection as well as greater balance were their primary concern.
With the help of a team of podiatrists headed by Dr. Frank Santopietro, in the year 1981, the brand’s vision materialized in the form of the Saucony Jazz. Its distinctive Maxitrac outsole with triangular lugs, “Butterfly Balance” design and its cushioned sockliner gave this track shoe the stability, comfort and reduced weight that runners required to improve their game.
To date, the Saucony Jazz Originals remains the most coveted shoe of this distinguished brand. It wouldn’t have if it was not reissued in 1998. Brought back to life under the sub-brand Saucony Originals, this shoe previously loved by runners, soon, invaded the world of fashion.
Among the brand’s most prominent models, its appearance barely changed since it was conceived. It, however, can be seen in a wide range of variations and hues to meet the taste of everyone, Earth-lovers included. The Jazz O Cozy, a women’s exclusive release, launched in the early months of the year 2017.

Jazz Original shoes have been known for their rubber outsole with the classic triangular tread pattern that offers improved grip and traction.
