Who should buy the Saucony Integrity ST 2
The Integrity ST 2 is a neutral walking trainer that caters to people with normal pronation who need only moderate cushioning. It retains the technologies and materials used in the original version but attempts to serve them with a sleeker design. It is a solid option if:
- A shoe that offers lasting comfort for day-to-day activities that require you to be on your feet for a prolonged period is what you need.
- Discomfort in the lower extremities becomes a serious annoyance that footwear with the ability to alleviate pain is what you prefer.
- The situation demands you to get a new pair and a shoe that is comfortable fresh off the box would be useful.
Firm platform shield
This walking shoe from Saucony utilizes blown rubber as the primary outsole material. It is designed to be lightweight yet hard-wearing to shield the platform without adding too much weight to the shoe. This rubber has a bouncy characteristic which contributes to the midsole cushioning. It is also made non-marking to make sure that the wearer doesn’t leave any scuffs or marks on the floor.
The patented XT-900 compound is strategically placed throughout the outsole. Made of carbon rubber, it aims to enhance traction and protection.
The Walk Trac technology is found in the midfoot section. It unintrusively guides the foot as it transitions from the heel to the ball of the foot.
The flex grooves in the forefoot section complement the Walk Trac. They allow the foot to bend naturally as it completes the walking gait cycle.
Responsive and long-lasting
The Saucony Integrity ST 2 features a number of components that work together to deliver moderate underfoot padding. The lightweight CMEVA layer makes up the main cushioning. It is designed to be durable to provide a long-lasting and responsive platform. The heel section employs a ProGrid cassette. It works similar to a tennis racket as it centers the impact and bounces back during the heel strike.
The HRC compound in the forefoot completes the work of the ProGrid and the CMEVA. Made of a responsive EVA/rubber material, it gives the foot a final rebound at the later stages of the gait cycle.
A cushioned insole is placed inside the shoe for added comfort. It can be easily removed if necessary.
The Saucony Integrity ST 2's upper
A full-grain leather upper is utilized in the black and white versions of the Saucony Integrity ST 2, while the nude beige colorway comes in suede. Both materials are meant to give a snug and secure foothold.
The Forefoot Stretch Zone is added for flexibility. It offers a more forgiving fit in the area where the foot needs to bend.
The forefoot area is designed to be spacious. It allows for the toes to splay comfortably.
The toe cap, the midfoot, and the rearfoot are more prone to abrasion and are reinforced with extra overlays.
Anti-heel slippage
The plush collar eliminates undesirable irritation in the ankle area and prevents heel slippage. The padded tongue shields the instep from the pressure created by the shoelaces.
