The Saucony Grid 9000 received a premium and noteworthy upgrade through the Saucony Grid 9000 Liberty Pack. Unlike the original Grid 9000 silhouette from 1994, this limited edition run utilizes premium materials and intricate design upgrades.
First off the list is the upgraded upper that this time comes in refined premium woven suede accented with leather decals. Next is the laces. Saucony Grid 9000 Liberty Pack History
One of the most successful shoes of US-based shoe brand Saucony is the Saucony Grid 9000, which debuted in 1994 as a running shoe. It was one of the first few shoe models to utilize the brand's GRID technology or otherwise known as the Ground Reaction Inertia Device (GRID) Cushioning System. The Saucony Grid 9000 remains popular for casual use up to this day as it was during the ‘90s because of its vintage Saucony look that is timeless but stylish.
In January 2017, Saucony released the Saucony Grid 9000 Liberty Pack which comprises two new patriotic colorways of the Grid 9000 silhouettes. Although both pairs feature red, blue, and white color palettes, they visually differ due to unique color blocking and use of materials. The first one has woven paneling throughout the upper and premium suede overlays, while the other features perforation and blue denim detailing. Both colorways have superior-quality tan leather accents and gold foil details on the tongue tab logo. Each pair retailed at $120 and released in limited quantities.
- The EVA midsole of the Saucony Grid 9000 Liberty Pack comes in white color with the visible GRID system.
- The outsole is of gum rubber material for a classic look with triangular lug patterns for traction.
- The tongue displays a pull tab for easy on/off wear.
- Like in the original Grid 9000 silhouette, the tongue is constructed in a fold-out kind of system in which one side is attached to the upper resulting to an interior bootie construction.
- Other Saucony brandings are displayed on the tan leather tabs on the side panel beside the tongue and the heel.
- The insoles are removable.
