The standard width and length measurements of the Saucony Grid Excursion TR 12 enable a fit that is true to size, making it ideal for runners who have a moderate foot volume. As a trail running shoe, the Grid Excursion TR 12 promotes a secure fit to ensure a smooth and steady ride. This means the shoe has a short toe box, a narrow midfoot, and a snug heel and collar. The Grid Excursion TR 12 is created following medium width for both the men’s and women’s versions.

TheSaucony Grid Excursion TR 12 retains the XT-600 outsole, one of the three variants of the brand’s carbon rubber of increasing levels. Being the lowest level, the XT-600 in this shoe is the sufficient amount to provide traction on light and easy-to-medium trails. The material, which is also utilized in the Saucony Cohesion 12, also gives the shoe protection in the high-wear areas.

The twelfth iteration of the Grid Excursion TR still uses the same lug pattern – a multidirectional design running across the length of the shoe. This layout allows an all-around grip and promotes mobility on multiple planes.

The improved injection-molded ethylene-vinyl acetate (IMEVA) foam of the Grid Excursion TR 12 produces a midsole with an enhanced level of cushioning and a better energy return compared to its predecessor. These qualities permit the runner to log more miles without worrying about fatigue.

Like all the Excursion TR models that came before, the Grid Excursion TR 12 is aided by the GRID technology. This is a heel support system that works by reducing the impact from footstrike, through the use of an additional layer of cushioning that compresses and molds itself according to the shape of the foot.

A removable sockliner tops off the midsole, providing another level of cushioning and underfoot protection. It also gives the wearer a contoured fit.

Further improved from past iterations, the Saucony Grid Excursion TR 12 now uses a trail-specific mesh upper. It is a knitted material that also possesses a unique design suitable for the outdoors. Beneath the mesh is a fabric lining that equips the foot with a smooth and seamless feel. Both the mesh and the fabric lining are breathable to endorse optimal airflow within the shoe and around the foot.

A set of synthetic overlays makes their way across the length of the shoe. These overlays serve as the supportive framework of the Saucony Grid Excursion TR 12.

The shoe utilizes a traditional lace-up closure for a convenient and a familiar system of fitting. The shoelaces are aided by a heel pull-loop, which also provides an easy way to wear the shoe.
