Who should buy the Salomon OUTline
The Salomon OUTline may not be suitable for those with wide feet, but its list of positive qualities can still give enough reasons for prospective buyers to check this product out. It is a solid option if you:
- Prefer a low-cut hiking shoe built with an emphasis on lightness and comfort on the trail.
- Prefer a low-cut hiking shoe that provides cushioning and stability on uneven terrain.
- Prefer a low-cut hiking shoe that delivers traction on virtually all types of surfaces.
Excellent traction and grip on wet and dry surfaces
The OUTline uses a non-marking Contagrip rubber outsole to render traction. Its surface is filled with 5mm, reverse chevron-shaped lugs that grip on wet and dry surfaces. The sole’s front section extends upward to provide extra protection against stubbing. Its heel area contains a grooved design which grants improved control in downhill situations.
Comfortable and shock-absorbing cushioning
The Salomon OUTline’s midsole is made of lightweight EVA foam. It acts by reducing shock and providing a cushioned ride to the wearer.
Excellent arch support
The shoe’s removable Ortholite footbed grants arch support and underfoot comfort. Its open-cell structure creates a cooler in-shoe environment by moving moisture away from the foot. The footbed also incorporates an EVA heel cup which provides additional support.
Lightweight and breathable
The Salomon OUTline features an upper made of textile fabric, making it lightweight and breathable. It is reinforced with synthetic overlays to add structure to the shoe. A protective toe cap is found at the shoe’s front end for enhanced durability and resistance to abrasive elements.
Secure lace management
The footgear’s closure system uses a series of round eyelets (the topmost pair are plated) for proper and secure lace management. A gusseted tongue prevents debris from entering the shoe while the padded collar promotes comfort.
