A low-cut day hiking shoe for women, the Salomon Ellipse 2 LTR, comes in full and half sizes. The shape of the collar and sole stiffness is taken from a woman’s input for fit optimization. The traditional lace-up front closure offers a secure and snug fit. It fairly runs true to size and is offered in regular width.
Using Contagrip outsole equipped with OS Tendon, both brand-patented technologies, grip is rendered on most types of terrain. The chevron lugs on the heel and forefoot assist during ascents and descents. The angled lugs on the side create a pathway that does not trap water, thus preventing slips.
An injected EVA midsole is responsible for rebound. This component is topped with a die-cut Ortholite sockliner bring the Ellipse 2 LTR wearer comfort and cushioning. The Ortholite insole is also known for its breathability and promotes air circulation. Its open-cell structure enables it to manage moisture for a cooler and fresher in-shoe environment.
The Salomon Ellipse 2 LTR uses abrasion-resistant textile for its upper. It is supported by split suede leather, giving form to the shoe. It has protective toe and heel cap, both add durability, while the latter also aids in rearfoot stability. An overlay on each side act as a mudguard. A heel foam grants comfort while the pull tab makes on and off easier. The visible lines on the upper are added for a feminine touch.
