They're extremely light. They're very very very light.

The Salomon Alphacross will be a great partner on dryer trail running training days. It provides a good, yet not too tight fit and thanks to the aggressive heel drop, it will keep you going forward, let it be uphill on a slope or downhill on a forest trail. Some more weather-proofing would have been great, though.

- Engineered to withstand the roughest of trail surfaces, the Salomon Alphacross is graced with Contragip® outsole. This outsole material ensures the durability and protection of the shoe while maintaining its unmatched, aggressive traction on a variety of surfaces.

- For the shoe’s midsole, an EnergyCell midsole is utilized which absorbs shock upon the impact of the footstrike. It helps protect the foot from any injury.

- The stitch-free construction of the Salomon Alphacross gives the shoe a smooth, glove-like fit. It also promotes an irritation-free comfort within the shoe for the athlete to last on the trails.

The Salomon Alphacross is available in standard sizing scheme for both men and women. Thus, you can purchase a pair of these Salomon trail running shoes with your usual size preference.

To secure the fit of the shoe, the ripstop fabric is employed as the upper material of the shoe. Meanwhile, the traditional lace-up fastening system of the shoe ensures a snug and adjustable fit.

The Alphacross utilizes Contragrip® outsole which is a technology that features a mixture of different compounds exhibiting different densities. Basically, different zones of the outsoles may either be softer or harder. In high-wear areas of the shoe, high-density compounds are supplied to protect the shoe from abrasion.

The outsole of the Alphacross features Chevron lugs that have deep penetration and multi-directional grip that enhances the traction of this trail running shoe on any surface and any condition- wet or dry. These Chevron lugs also sport durable properties that add to the overall protection of the shoe.

EnergyCell midsole is composed of high-performing ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam that helps with shock attenuation upon impact- heightening the propulsion of the foot forward in a more efficient manner.

The OrthoLite® insole of the Alphacross, which is also employed in the Brooks Transcend 6, provides superior cushioning to the shoe which also contributes to the level of comfort offered by the shoe. This insole is also known for being highly breathable and durable.

The ripstop fabric of the upper consists of woven fabric which is often made of nylon, employing sufficient reinforcement to withstand tearing, ripping and abrasion. This helps add to the overall protection and durability of the shoe. It promotes breathability and flexibility for a more natural movement of the foot.

The upper of the Salomon Alphacross is constructed in a stitch-free manner that gives the shoe a smooth, glove-like fit and feel.

The shoe is furnished with a traditional lacing system that helps deliver a secure and adjustable fit. It also features eyelets that provide secure foot lockdown.
