Updates to Ryka Tenacious

  • The Ryka Tenacious is a high-top workout shoe designed for use in a studio or a gym. The upper is made of mesh that keeps the foot chamber cool. It has synthetic overlays that not only protect parts of the top portion but also gives the trainer its unique look. Inside, the Direct-Fuse synthetic material is used to deliver a seamless inner lining. The trainer also uses a combination of laces and hook-and-loop strap to keep the foot secured and supported.
  • The trainer features a dual-foam construction that delivers additional cushioning to the balls of the feet. It has the RE-ZORB insert that adds another layer of comfort to the foot. At the heel area is the Injected Heel Guidance clip that keeps the back of the foot steady.
  • The underside of the footwear is lined with a durable rubber that allows it to withstand rigorous training. Under the ball of the foot is a Pivot Point which aims to make turns smooth.
  • This trainer can be easily confused with the Ryka Tenacity as the two models not only have similar names but also share a high-top collar as well as the RE-ZORB cushioning unit. The differences are mostly found in the design of synthetic overlays in the upper unit.

Ryka Tenacious size and fit

This training shoe from Ryka is true to size and comes in B – Medium width. The high-top construction and the additional medial strap may feel too snug for some consumers and should be considered when purchasing a pair.

Outsole

The Ryka Tenacious features a rubber outsole that withstands normal wear-and-tear associated with indoor training. It is resilient and has enough flexibility to adapt to foot movements during workouts. The treads on the provide better grip on surfaces.

The Pivot Point feature at the ball area makes it easier for wearers to transition from one step to another during dance routines. The smooth circular structure makes users perform turns or twists without putting too much pressure on the knee or ankle.

Midsole

A dual-foam module is used in the midsole of the Ryka Tenacious. Two layers of foam are found under the ball of the foot to provide extra cushioning during high-impact training. Foam is a typical material used in midsoles because it is lightweight, resilient and has shock absorption properties.

It features the RE-ZORB footbed which adds another rich layer to the midsole. This proprietary foam is responsive and attenuates shock to prevent injuries or discomfort to the foot.

At the back of the shoe is an Injected Heel Guidance clip. A hard rubber makes up the clip that extends to the bottom of the upper. This technology serves to steady the foot during high-intensity workouts.

Upper

The Ryka Tenacious employs a breathable mesh upper that keeps the foot well ventilated. This material is light and does not add weight to the shoe. Synthetic overlays cover high-wear areas such as the toe box and side panels to protect them from impact and abrasion. They also reinforce the back area to prevent the heel from slipping while the user is in motion.

A Direct-Fuse synthetic material reinforces the inside of the upper. It is integrated directly to the mesh, with no stitches used, to ensure that there will be no seams to cause discomfort to the foot.

For the closure, it uses a combination of a lacing system and a single medial strap. The round laces allow users to customize the fit of the upper. The hook-and-loop strap locks the foot down to prevent accidental shoe removal.

The plush collar prevents chafing in the ankle area. It also provides a supportive structure for the ankle to avoid wobbling while in motion.
