Stability and motion control add-ons are uncommon for workout shoes and are never present in CrossFit or weightlifting footwear. They are mostly found in walking shoes where the gait is easier to correct.

- The sole unit is built of the ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam. This material is soft and responsive to reduce shock felt by foot. The cushioning is intensified by the RE-ZORB NRG drop-in midsole and the Anatomical Precise-Return insole with arch support. The midsole also doubles as the outsole of the shoe, but the high-wear areas are strengthened with a denser type of EVA foam.

The EVA midsole doubles as the main outsole of the Ryka Eva NRG. It is created to be durable, but because it is still soft, the high-wear areas, such as the toe and the heel sections, are lined with a denser version of EVA. This compound enhances durability of the outsole without adding too much weight to the trainer.
Looking at the outsole, flex grooves are visible throughout the unit. They promote natural foot flexion and traction. There are also windows at the forefoot and the heel sections that let users see the RE-ZORB NRG drop-in midsole.
The Ryka Eva NRG uses different elements for its midsole to deliver a cushioned yet supportive platform. The midsole is made of the EVA foam. This compound is crafted to be soft and responsive to attenuate shock and keep the foot comfortable.
On top of the EVA foam is the full-length RE-ZORB NRG drop-in. This technology uses RE-ZORB Lite capsules embedded in a responsive foam. This proprietary technology is engineered to be receptive to better absorb shock upon impact. This type of cushioning is commonly used in Ryka workout shoes.
The footgear is also equipped with the Anatomical Precise-Return insole. This removable insert is designed to conform to the natural shape of the foot. It also has an arch support that hugs the midfoot for overall coverage.
The upper of the Ryka Eva NRG is made of textile mesh. This type of fabric is breathable to keep the inside aerated. It is also fashioned to wrap the foot for support but expand when needed. It is crafted with a round toe box to allow toe splaying during squats and weight training, leaving the foot planted to the ground.
Synthetic overlays form panels at the midfoot and integrate with the lacing system. When the laces are cinched, the panels are drawn closer to the foot, amplifying the lateral support.
Underneath the lace-up closure is the single flexible gore strap. This elastic band stretches when it is being worn or taken off and provides a snug fit when it returns to its normal state. It heightens the support offered by the lacing system.
