Regardless of cut, it's always good to start with sneakers that can be worn for the daily grind, also called as "beaters" by some, as these are usually cheaper, easy to clean, and still gives that lifestyle "edge" before going for those wallet-thinning models.

A masterful team-up between two or more entities, usually between brands and artists, pro-athletes, designers, and boutique labels. Limited Releases are very popular and are normally sold out in just hours or minutes upon release despite the hefty price tag. The Ronnie Fieg x Dover Street Market x New Balance 574 Sport collab is available in men’s version only with sizes ranging from 4 to 12. Women may still enjoy the shoe by purchasing a pair one size and a half down from their usual shoe measurement. The silhouette runs true to size for men although buyers who wish for more toe room can go up half a size.

The shoe makes use of laces and has a mesh inner sock that allows easy slip on and off.

Get ready to hit the street in style with the Ronnie Fieg x Dover Street Market x New Balance 574 Sport. Wear it with skinny jeans, a graphic shirt, and a denim vest on top. You can also wear the low-top sneaker a little less casually by wearing dark or black jeans, a white collared shirt, and a dark sweater on top.

New Balance’s Fresh Foam midsole takes the Ronnie Fieg x Dover Street Market x New Balance 574 from merely stylish to comfortably fashionable. The midsole tech provides the sneaker with a smooth and stable ride and responsive energy return. The velcro patches, meanwhile, add to the shoe’s interesting visual points with logos coming in a variety of colors in suede, nubuck, leather, and 3M.

The silhouette that the Ronnie Fieg and Dover Street Market collab is based on is the New Balance 574 which was released by the brand in 1988 and reissued in 2003. It was originally an advanced running shoe that contained New Balance’s ENCAP technology which gave the shoe added stability and superior shock dispersion.

The 574 had a combined suede and mesh upper and a solid rubber outsole. It was a fan favorite, and the brand kept churning out colorways upon vibrant colorways for the model. The sneaker has also gone through numerous iterations and has become part of several collaborations, taking on new fabrics and colors every time.

In July of 2017, New Balance teamed up with designer and Kith founder Ronnie Fieg and retailer Dover Street Market for a new take on the 574 Sport. The collab gave three major updates to the classic. First, the tongue and collar area has been converted into a cleatie-like construction. Second, the toebox area was made narrower and more streamlined to keep up with modern styling. And third and last, the midsole was upgraded to the Fresh Foam technology.

28 interchangeable velcro logos were added by Ronnie to add versatility to the silhouette. These are made of various colors as well as of different fabrics including nubuck, leather, and reflective. A custom packaging system released by Kith is designed to hold the patches prominently.
