- The Reebok ZigEnergy Ref is a shoe that’s created to deliver comfort to its wearer. It’s created to function well in a variety of activities, but it’s marketed as a shoe for sports referees and umpires who are constantly running around the court or field. It comes in an all-black color scheme, with a choice of matte or shiny.
- The upper unit of this running shoe is made from synthetic leather. It’s lightweight and smooth. Synthetic overlays are placed on the fabric, providing a snug and secure fit for the wearer. The SmoothFit construction reduces rubbing, thus keeping the foot safe from irritation.
- The platform is located externally, which means it serves as both the mid-sole and the outsole. A zigzag design is employed in this unit, which allows it to give additional cushioning to each phase of the gait cycle. This mid-sole shape also allows the runner to have a responsive performance; flexibility is more agreeable, and forefoot lifts are more enabled.
- Because the midsole also serves as the outsole, the foam material is obviously exposed to the ground. To counter the effects of surface friction and continued use, durable rubber is placed in the outsole of the Reebok ZigEnergy Ref. In addition to its protective purpose, it also delivers reliable surface traction.
The Reebok ZigEnergy Ref has a standard shoe length. It comes in sizes that follow the regular measurements. The available width is medium, so it is able to accommodate those who have medium sized feet. Its semi-curved shape adheres to the curvature of the human foot.
Durable rubber covers the part of the zigzag platform that’s exposed to the ground. It protects the exposed areas from wear and tear. Traction is also part of its service, so it is able to let the runner take control of their movements on the surface, while also preventing slippage.
The zigzag design of the sole unit naturally forms flex grooves. These deep channels make the shoe more adherent to how the foot goes through the gait cycle.
The middle part of the sole unit is placed separately from the upper. It serves as both the cushioning system and as the part of the outsole. Called the ZigTech, this full-length material is aptly designed to have a zigzag shape. It delivers responsive and flexible cushioning to the wearer, making sure that each phase of the gait cycle is well-supported.
The Ortholite sock liner adds some more cushioning for the runner. It can be replaced or removed entirely to accommodate medical orthotics. It also has an anti-microbial function, which keeps the interior chamber of the Reebok ZigEnergy Ref healthy and clean.
Synthetic leather is used in the upper unit of the Reebok ZigEnergy Ref. It has a sleek and smooth disposition, which makes it visually endearing. It doesn’t tear apart easily, too. The only color scheme available for this model is black, but runners can choose between a matte or glossy finish.
The SmoothFit fabric construction doesn’t rub uncomfortably against the skin. Blisters and welts are prevented by such a feature.
A padded tongue and collar locks the foot down and keeps it in place.
