Reebok Speedlux 2.0 size and fit
The Speedlux 2.0 has a standard running shoe length, with a structure that caters to runners with low to moderate foot volumes. The toe box and midfoot intend to be snug; thus, wearers who prefer a less tight fit are recommended to go a half-size up. Width profiles are available in D – Medium for men’s and B – Medium for women’s.
A standard blown rubber builds the outsole of the Speedlux 2.0. This material is innately durable just like the outsole of the Nike Pegasus 35, thus ensuring sufficient traction on different road-running conditions.
The outsole features slots across the forefoot that bring flexibility during the stride. Meanwhile, another groove runs through the heel to the forefoot, aiding in smooth transitions and an efficient gait cycle. Having all these capabilities, the structure of the outsole enables 70% dynamic biomechanics of the foot. It means natural movement is stimulated and there are fewer chances of foot injuries.
The midsole of the Reebok Speedlux 2.0 is an ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam that has a sculpted design, allowing a customized cushioning for each unique footstrike. EVA foam is known for its shock-absorbent quality, which is defined in this shoe. This midsole foam is also used in the Speedlux 3.0.
On top of the midsole is another layer of EVA, acting as a sock liner. Aside from producing additional cushioning, this detail softens the impact on the joints, permitting a correct stride and forward propulsion.
A blend of varied materials creates the upper of this shoe. First, a lightweight mesh encourages airflow and promotes a fresh and dry foot environment. Next, synthetic overlays are present in the forefoot and heel to give support and enable a steady run. Lastly, a textile lining delivers an in-shoe comfort and a relaxing sensation to the skin.
To further emphasize on comfort, a low-cut collar lets the foot move naturally. This design also wraps the foot snugly for a more secure wear. It is padded, to prevent irritation that is usually caused by the collar rubbing against the skin.
