Reebok Classic Leather Gum History
Originally released in 1983, the Reebok Classic Leather was already responsive to the needs of the time. Because there was already a clamor for stylish footwear, the Classic Leather was specifically designed for and targeted at men and women with strong fashion sense.
But because running and jogging were two of the top activities that the market was learning to love, the Classic Leather did not completely let go of its athletic heritage. It had air vents that ensured breathability. It also made of use of the BiDensity Shock Protection System, a special technology that contributed to running stability.
Today, The Reebok Classic Leather Gum retains its pretty-but-high-performing image. Its neat and classic silhouette has universal appeal. Its soft leather upper and gum outsole make sure that the wearer gets the utmost comfort.
Reebok Classic Leather Gum Style
Generally, the Reebok Classic Leather Gum is casual enough to hit the streets in and professional enough to go to work in. Because it comes in neutral colorways, it can go with almost every hue in an everyday person’s wardrobe. It also has this gum outsole that make the shoes palatable even to the most meticulous fashionistas.
If black or white are too mundane for an important event, the Reebok Classic Leather Gum can be customized to suit unique personalities and purposes.
Fit and sizing
This Reebok Classic Leather Gum falls in the size 9 to 13 range for men. Women, on the other hand, can choose any size from 5 to 12. Both come in medium or standard widths.
The original Classic Leather’s iconic silhouette is a very obvious feature of the shoe. It is a silhouette that has been followed by countless sneaker and fitness fans since the 80s. As recognizable as it is, there are also subtle refinements that make the shoe as popular before as it is today. This is simply a shoe that mixes the past and the new with ease.
One new twist in this version of the Classic Leather is the Gum outsole that serves two purposes. It offers excellent grip and superior durability. Secondly, the brown tone of the Gum rubbers offers a nice contrast to the upper and midsole sections.
- The Reebok Classic Leather Gum uses die-cut EVA on its midsole for maximum shock absorption.
- The original Classic Leather was the first athletic shoe to be constructed using garment leather.
