Under Armour Football Cleats: Click-Clack... I Think You Hear Us Coming
Under Armour founder Kevin Plank is no stranger to the game of gridiron football. In fact, his on-field experience helped him transform the performance apparel industry.
Because of this, Under Armour decided to break new ground in 2004 and move outside their specialty. "They're blazing new territory now. No one knows how they're going to do," sporting goods analyst with the research company SportsOneSource Group Neil Schwartz commented.
Football shoes with spikes play well to Under Armour's strengths. Kevin Plank's first compression shirts were designed for and tested by football players. So, creating football cleats was a natural progression for the company. "We wanted to... truly make our presence on the field 'head-to-toe,'" former Under Armour Senior Vice President of Marketing Bill Kraus said.
Two years later, the National Football League named Under Armour as an authorized footwear supplier. "We are pleased to add Under Armour to the select group of companies that have on-field rights with the NFL," Roger Goodell (the NFL's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at that time) said. "We look forward to working with Under Armour, which is an exciting, fast-growing company with a strong history in football."
"This is a partnership that will officially bring Under Armour's superior technology to the prestigious main stage that is the National Football League. This is the pinnacle of on-field authenticity, and the partnership helps accomplish our mission to deliver the very best performance products to all levels of athletes. Now we have an official presence on Sundays with the best players in the world to complement the scores of student-athletes wearing our products on Saturdays and under the Friday night lights," Under Armour Chairman, CEO, and President Kevin Plank said after the announcement.
What Are The Superior Technologies of Under Armour Football Cleats?
Since the company's inception, Under Armour has been on a mission to improve an athlete's overall experience and performance.
"I realized that it was not just this product I was building; it was a brand. Under Armour wasn't about the compression T-shirt; it was about the essence of it: performance. The shirt was a piece of equipment. It made you perform better. So now we make performance footwear and accessories as well," Kevin Plank said in an interview.

"He electrified the college football world this past season, and his commitment to training and preparation, along with his hunger to succeed at the next level, make him a perfect fit for the Under Armour family."
During his rookie season, Cam broke the all-rookie NFL record for passing and rushing yards. In his first NFL game, Cam also became the first rookie quarterback to throw for 400 yards. By the end of the season, he was named the 2011 Rookie of the Year.
After eight years of showing his creativity, personality, and originality, Under Armour finally launched his first signature sneaker.
"Under Armour gave me free rein. We only have one time to make a first impression. I want to grasp people's attention. I'm a big proponent of self-expression without having to open your mouth. My main focus is to inspire and impact people and to have them say, 'He did it, and I want to do it too,'" Cam said in an interview.
The first Under Armour C1N came in the form of a lifestyle sneaker/trainer. The UA C1N features a Threadborne upper with a slip-on construction for the perfect casual implementation. A few years later, Under Armour raised the C1N to another level.
Under Armour re-engineered the football cleat to match the 2015 NFL MVP's unmatched combination of strength and quickness. The UA C1N MC boasts a slip-on, knitted bootie construction with a molded ankle collar for a comfortable fit. These Under Armour football cleats also feature TPU tabs, a ghillie system, and next-generation lacing for unmatched support. I think we've got a lot in common. We both want to stay hungry, stay humble," Tom said. "At this point in my career, it's got to be about the product I believe in. I felt there wasn't anything better out there. This is such a young company to be where they are. This kind of tells you where the market's at," he continued.
Tom is a great addition to Under Armour's growing roster of endorsers. He was voted as the 13th most recognizable and marketable athlete in the May 2010 edition of SportsPro.
"Tom Brady represents a lot of what Under Armour is all about," Kevin Plank, Under Armour founder and CEO, said in a statement. "He's humble and hungry and continues to be focused on winning and getting better every single day."

How do I clean and maintain my Under Armour football cleats?
According to Under Armour, it is vital to keep your UA cleats dirt-free for optimal performance. Listed below are some recommendations from Under Armour to keep your cleats good as new.
- Use an object such as a stick to dislodge excess mud and dirt between the studs after each use.
- Create a cleaning solution using mild detergent and warm water (Do not use abrasive cleaners such as 409 or Fantastic because they will cause the synthetic material to dry and crack).
- Use a sponge or towel to wipe off stains (Do not submerge the cleat in the cleaning solution).
- Let the cleats dry naturally. Put them out to dry or use a fan
- Never dry your cleats on radiators or other artificial sources of heat. Doing so may cause the cleat to stiffen and the leather or synthetic material to crack.
- If your cleat is heavily soaked, stuff them with newspaper to maintain their shape and fit as they dry.
