Saucony neutral running shoes aim to deliver a more natural-feeling ride. These are often found to be lighter than other running shoe types and are occasionally used by runners who are competing. These shoes were engineered with the runner's comfort in mind, using Saucony's supportive technologies. Best accommodated by runners with a normal to higher arch, Saucony neutral running shoes provide shock absorption and arch-side medial support for runners with neutral pronation or supination.

Best Saucony neutral running shoes - July 2019

Saucony incorporates in its neutral running shoes their most reliable shoe technologies to date, making these shoes some of the most robust and durable out in the market. Below are some of the technologies that can be found inside Saucony neutral running shoes:

EVERUN. Saucony's EVERUN foam which is featured in one of the brand’s popular neutral running shoe, the Saucony Ride 10, is created by fusing thousands of bouncy thermoplastic polyurethane beads together to make a foam that is three times more durable than regular EVA and returns 83 percent of the energy the runner's body puts into it during the ride.

ISOFIT.  Saucony's breakthrough fit system that allows the shoe to conform to your unique foot shape for a custom feel. The ISOFit upper made its debut in 2015 and incorporated three "wings" on either side of the shoe. Those wings are connected to the shoe's lacing system to create a more custom-like fit that allows the shoe to adapt better as the foot changes shape during the stride. Saucony has since added ISOFit across its running line and into versions of its neutral, stability, and trail shoes. The brand has also come up with its latest upper innovation, called ISOKNIT, debuted in the neutral running shoe, Freedom ISO 2 in 2019. The ISOKNIT combines both the ISOFit system with a new knit upper construction for enhanced breathability and support.

FlexFILM. It is Saucony's new overlay technology where the overlays are now melded to the upper instead of the sewn together plastic pieces. This makes it more lightweight and also reduce possibilities of irritation and blisters. The overlay's main function is to provide the shoe's upper with the neede support and structure.

FORMFIT. A contoured footbed that cradles the runner’s foot and giving the shoe a near-custom fit and instant, cloud-like comfort.

Crystal rubber. Developed for durability, the transparent outsole provides excellent traction and increased flexibility to guarantee an always even footing throughout the run.

PWRTRAC. It is Saucony’s sticky and durable rubber outsole that gives their neutral running shoes the premium traction and high-end abrasion resistance.

Powergrid and Powergrid+. The Powergrid+ technology has been evolved from the Powergrid tech, which was also updated from the original Progrid technology. All these "grid" technologies is a system which is a perforated layer between the shoe's insole and the midsole. The layer in the midsole also acts as a net that helps spread the impact received on the runner's foot.

Saucony has evolved the Powergrid from the Progrid system by making use of an even lighter material, and the Powergrid+ is different from Powergrid in a way that instead of being a separate layer above the midsole, the Powergrid+ has now incorporated the holes into the midsole itself to create the grid system.

GRID Technology. This technology uses the Hytrel filaments, which are woven together to deliver proper cushioning and stability. The GRID technology allows the heel to move towards the center upon impact on the floor.  There are also different variations of the GRID technology, which are the GRID, I-GRID, PROGRID, 3D GRID, and the Active GRID Cushioning.

Ionic Cushioning System (ICS). This is a staple in most of the Saucony neutral running shoe.  It is comprised of molded triangular pillars that are situated at the midsole's rear portion. The ICS technology guarantees both control and comfort while also offering the necessary cushioning needed for the heel-strike phase during runs.

Flexion Plate. This Saucony technology is a structure comprised of TPU. It is a platform that provides good support and cushioning while guiding the runner's foot from the heel strike to the forefoot. The Flexion Plate helps in restricting unwanted lateral motion that causes most injuries and promotes involuntary forward motion.
