Fit & Sizing

Based on the iconic Puma Suede Classic from 1968, the Puma Suede Shimmer flaunts a basketball-inspired silhouette in a low-top construction with a traditional lace closure system. While the original Puma Suede Classic comes in men’s and women’s sizing, this Shimmer rendition is only available in women’s sizing which ranges from US 5.5 to 10 in B Medium (Standard) width.

Overall support and hold are excellent considering the classic Suede DNA as its core model combined with a durable suede upper with sufficient leather reinforcements on the sides and heel.

Puma Suede Shimmer Style

The Puma Suede Shimmer sneakers are a fusion of classic basketball-turned-lifestyle silhouette and feminine-inspired design upgrade. While it maintained the core features of the Puma Suede Classic shoes such as the suede upper, full lace closure, low-top profile, and rubber sole, it also radiates feminine vibes with its shimmered leather vamp.

Dropped in fresh colorways including Bridal Rose-Puma White and Puma Black-Puma White, this Jumping Cat sneaker promised versatility as with the other Suede renditions. Pick the pink one (Bridal Rose colorway) if you're up for a chic girly outfit, or the black pair if you prefer a classic-with-a-twist kind better.

Notable Features

The Puma Suede Collection is so extensive such that it consists of classic Puma Suede versions with different design elements and flair, and, thus, cater to a variety of audiences.

This Shimmer edition may look like the usual Suede that most of us are too familiar with as it features a smooth, soft, and buttery suede upper in a low-top and lace-up basketball-inspired silhouette. But this shoe is a lot more than that.

The Puma Suede Shimmer sneakers are a feminine update to the 1968 hoop shoe turned lifestyle sneaker model. Exclusive for the ladies, the shoe features shimmer leather design details on the vamp that adds a bit of shine, sparkles, and a touch of ladylike flair.

Puma Suede Shimmer History

Puma, a top sneaker brand founded by Rudolf Dassler, made a name in the industry with the help of its iconic shoe models. These shoes not only caused massive sales for the brand, but also impact and influence in the history of footwear, sports, music, and fashion.

One of these shoes from the Formstrip brand is the Puma Suede, a basketball shoe that eventually turned into a lifestyle model. It was first created in 1968 as a revolutionary model that utilizes suede as upper material. It made appearances in the famous 1968 Olympics Black Power Salute, during the popularity of hip-hop and breakdance culture, in various skate parks, and on the streets across the globe.

Today, the Puma Suede's popularity continues to rise above even the latest and contemporary sneaker models. The classic suede and rubber sole combo have grown into a full collection of Puma Suede variations for men, women, and kids.
