Fit & Sizing

Puma’s extensive catalog of platform sneakers welcomes an additional model called the Puma Suede Platform Shimmer. Originating from the basketball-inspired Puma Suede silhouette, this platform Puma presents sufficient hold and support on foot. The lace-up closure, on the other hand, gives a customized and secure fit.

The Puma Suede Platform Shimmer women's sneakers are available for the ladies with sizes ranging from US 5.5 to 11.5 in B (M – Medium) or Standard width.

Puma Suede Platform Shimmer Style

The Puma Suede Platform Shimmer, also known as the Puma WMNS Platform Shimmer or simply Puma Platform Shimmer, is a low-top platform sneaker from the Jumping Cat brand. The basketball-inspired Suede silhouette not only received a platform rendition in this particular version, but it also got added shine and sparkle with a shimmer design.

The '90s grunge fashion inspires the overall look of these women's fashion sneakers – think of Nirvana or Pearl Jam, but with a twist. In the Shimmer version of the Suede Platform shoe, the prominent and elevated midsole got a soft leather upper with subtle shimmer design upgrade.

Notable Features

Dubbed as the Puma Suede Platform Shimmer shoe, this special release is clearly the “shimmer” iteration of the Puma Suede Platform silhouette. The chunky, elevated sole unit complements the soft leather upper material which dons a subtle shimmer design, hence the “shimmer” in the name.

Puma Suede Platform Shimmer History

Puma, a renowned German footwear brand, introduced the iconic Puma Suede low-tops in 1968 as a performance basketball shoe. It was marketed as the first-ever basketball shoe to feature a suede upper instead of the usual leather or canvas during that time.

But the Puma Suede’s success and iconic status did not come overnight. From basketball courts, it also gained popularity in different subcultures and communities, including hip-hop and breakdancing community, skateboarding, and street style fashion. Over the years, the Suede’s presence and relevance in the sneaker market continue to flourish globally.

  Introducing the Puma Suede Platform

When Rihanna’s Fenty Creeper from Puma gained worldwide success, Puma took a look at its iconic Suede silhouette and transformed it into a platform version called the Puma Suede Platform which resembles the well-received Fenty sneakers.

As with the Suede, the Suede Platform managed to make itself an icon with its out-of-the-box comfort and on-point style. Since it released, it already received different colorways and material upgrades. One of these is the Puma Suede Platform Shimmer.

Characterized by a chunky platform sole and subtly shimmered upper, the Puma Suede Platform Shimmer released in at least two colorways, including Bridal Rose – Puma White and Gray Violet – Puma White. Each pair initially retailed for $110.
